I am glad I won’t be judged on my merits alone

September 9, 2008

Scripture: Obadiah 1:15

“The day of the Lord is near

for all nations.

As you have done, it will be done to you;

your deeds will return upon your own head.

Observation: There will come a time when we are all judged on our behavior.

Application: I try to do nice things and live my life the way the Lord wants me to. But I slip up and fall short. It is certainly a relief that the price has already been paid for all those mistakes I’ve made and will make. (But that doesn’t mean I still shouldn’t try my best!)

Prayer: Thank you, Lord for loving me always. And thank you for understanding that I am fallen and for saving me from the judgment I deserve for my sin. Thank you for sending your perfect son to pay my price. And, please, continue to guide me in tying to live a life that honorably points to you.
