Scripture: Luke 17: 10
So you, also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.’”
Observation: It is our duty to serve as servants, not to look for rewards for serving.
Application: I must serve the Lord because I am instructed to do so, and not have any other motive.
Prayer: Lord, please guide me when my heart turns. Keep my service to you pure. Guide me in serving solely because you instruct me to do so. Please stop and remind me when I begin to think about rewards. And thank you for your forgiveness of this conflict inside of me.
