Scripture: James 4:8
Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
Observation: If you want God in your life, go to him and change your ways.
Application: You can’t expect God to make all the effort and make all the change. If you want to be transformed, you can’t expect it to happen without effort from you.
Prayer: Lord, I have been unmotivated and lazy lately. I have wanted a burst of energy, yet have done little to actually make it happen. Thank you for this reminder that if I want a change, I need to make the effort. If I want to see you move in my life, or in lives around me, I need to get even closer to you. And if I want my body to have energy again, I need to take the right steps and take care of it. Please guide me in growing closer and taking better care of myself: body and soul. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with me and giving me your word.
