February 26, 2009

I just finished praying for my husband with my kids and I have to say the experience was really quite sweet.
I called them over and we talked a little bit about Easter and getting ready for it through Lent. Then I explained we would be praying for our friends and family almost every day until [...]

Lenten season prayer list

With yesterday being the first day of Lent, I intended to write and post this before then, but, well, it didn’t happen.
So, here it is, on this second day of Lent, my plan for observing this season:
Rather than give something up for Lent, I’ve decided to give more of myself and time to the Lord [...]

Today I rode in the Tri-County Hillhopper, an official training ride for the BP MS 150 ride from Houston to Austin in April. Both my husband and I passed on the opportunity to ride the 67 [...]

What do I need for school?

February 21, 2009

Many many mornings I have realized that I forgot to remind a child to put something in his backpack the night before so we spend the last few moments before heading out the door frantically searching for a library book or show and tell item.
This past week at Bible study, it occurred to me that [...]

Salad Saturday #8: Italian pasta with shrimp

February 21, 2009

This week I used some leftover wheat angel hair and a few other ingredients to put together a pasta salad:

Here’s what was in it:
steamed spinach
angel hair with a touch of olive oil
steamed shrimp
tomatoes
fresh mozzarella
fresh basil
balsamic vinegar
Everything was served cold except the spinach, which cooled when mixed with everything else. It was pretty light, yet still [...]
