Bible in 90 Days… Are YOU in?

December 21, 2009

Over the past few days I’ve been honored to host posts from a few ladies explaining why they are taking on the 90 day challenge and reading the Bible in 90 days along with me, and hopefully you, too, beginning January 1 and ending March 31, just a few days before Easter.

Fortunately, many more of you have committed yourself to the challenge than posts I have published.

I would love to offer up this chance for you to share with the rest of us.

If you are a blogger, I’d like to encourage you to post on your own blog why you are planning to read the Bible, all of it, in 90 days, as part of our online reading community.

Then link up here to your post (not your homepage) so we can begin to get to know each other and start the encouragement before the reading even begins.

Please also include a link to this page in your post so your readers can see what others have to say, and maybe be encouraged to join the challenge.

For those of you who are not bloggers, perhaps you can leave us a message in the comments as to why you are in or how you reached the decision to join. I’d love to read about it.

You are open to link to this post all week, but those linked up or leaving comments by 8 a.m.CST Wednesday morning, December 23, by 3:30 p.m. CST Wednesday afternoon, December 23, will be entered to win a free Bible in 90 Days Bible and Participant’s Guide. You will receive one entry for a comment or link explaining why you are in. Only those with US mailing addresses are eligible to win. The Bible and Participant’s Guide are courtesy of Bible in 90 Days.org, whom I asked if I could create this promotion.

The winner will be announced Wednesday morning at which time I’ll contact the winner by email.

Reading the Bible in 90 days is truly an amazing experience. I will be honest and say that it is not an easy challenge. It takes planning, time, dedication and lots and lots of reading. I’m so excited with every email and comment I receive telling me who is in.

I can’t wait to begin with you and pray for your journey.

Sooooo… Who is in?

The Contest is now closed. Please feel free to continue linking and commenting, but the last entrants were link 21 and comment 35.

I think this is a fabulous idea. I have read the Bible through before, but I definitely want to do it again. I think this is just what I need for the new year!

I haven’t read through the Bible from cover to cover on a schedule before although I am fairly certain I have read every book in the Bible at least once in my life.

Reading the Bible in 90 days is a unique challenge, so I am commenting to say that I am on board. I have printed the reading schedule (and my husband even asked for a copy to do on his own) and read aloud the first 16 chapters to my 4 children this morning. They were restless, but stayed with me the whole time.

My methods & preferences may be unconventional for this 90 day study, but we’re all looking forward to it.

I haven’t read through the Bible before. I always start out with good intentions, but fizzle out after a few months. The Bible in 90 days is a great idea and I am up for the challenge.

As part of my 2010 goals, reading the entire Bible is at the top. I would love to join you in this journey. I was convicted by a blog post of yours a few days ago about thinking what I would “give up” to do the readings everyday. I probably will be spending the afternoon quiet time reading instead of napping or watching tv.

I haven’t blogged about it yet, but I will soon.

I’m in! :) I’m very excited about it! I blogged about this challenge a few days ago!

9 Colleen January 1, 2010 at 10:16 pm

I’ve attempted several times to read the Bible completely thru. Last year even tried the “read thru the bible in a year” Bible. Almost finished, but got behind about 8 or 9 months into it. So thinking that this might be a great way to do it. And with others doing it to that should be even more helpful

10 Veronika January 1, 2010 at 10:48 pm

I’m in! I have never read the Bible completely through. God blessed me with life and wonderful children and I owe it to myself and them to be thoroughly knowledgeable of His word. :)

11 Corine January 1, 2010 at 10:55 pm

My hope is to learn His word and grow daily with my prayer.

12 Megan January 2, 2010 at 12:31 am

I’m ready to try this. Reading the Bible in a year seems like it takes forever, but 90 days sounds so much more feasible.

13 Pam January 2, 2010 at 12:36 am

Woohoo, count me in! Is this the only place I need to sign up? Thanks!

I am in! I started a bit early because I will be gone a few days in Jan.
Thanks for encouraging everyone and starting this!

I’m am excited. I have never read the Bible through even though I was born into a Christian home, raised in church and went to a Cristian school. What a gift I was given and I haven’t even been willing to utilize it. I hope your website and this group of ladies will be my inspiration to follow through!

16 Luiza January 2, 2010 at 12:43 pm

Hi hi,
I’m very excited to be doing this! As a young twenty-something, i feel reading the Bible in 90 Days will be a rewarding experience. I look forward to it!

I’m in! OK I’m LATE joining, because I see your Linky is closed, but I did start on time and I’m on schedule. At first I thought that it would be too much, too fast, but actually I think it is a very do-able task, although I do see that it must be a priority. So far I’m enjoying this. I’m reading with a composition notebook next to me, so I can take a quick note or write a question and just keep moving on. I am getting it done in 3 or 4 sessions per day, per reading. I don’t have the 90 day Bible, so I’m using my own, and I just put a sticky note on my current page, and one on the ending page of the day’s reading. It makes it easier to see the daily goal. This is going to be AMAZING! Thank you!

I never found the linky. And I thought I posted that I was in but maybe I didn’t.
Anyway. I ordered the book and thought it would be here the 4th but here it was at my house by 9:15 today. Got 9 pages in already, and had so much to think about I had to take a break! But I know I can do it. Thanks!

19 cathy January 2, 2010 at 3:07 pm

I want to read through the entire Bible and I appreciate the motivation of doing it with a group.

20 Tavia Morris January 2, 2010 at 3:54 pm

Thanks for motivating us all to read the Bible in 90 days. Since it will be such a challenge, I started early–I guess that’s cheating–but I’m already through Genesis. The very first day’s reading made my heart glad as I noticed the connection between the Lord telling Abram not to be afraid because his “reward” would be very great (many descendants/children) and Psalm 127:3b Children…are a “reward” from Him! Don’t you love it?!

21 Brooke January 2, 2010 at 4:14 pm

I’m in. Started yesterday but I forgot to post before. Thanks for the bookmark- I’m using that since I can’t buy another Bible right now.

I’m in. I pray the power of God’s word will put faith in me. I pray the word of God will change my mind, my heart and my life.
Its been a long time since I read the Bible and I believe God lead me to this challenge to help me put my faith in Him.

23 Pamela Gilbert January 3, 2010 at 1:10 am

I’m in! I can’t wait to get started! I’ve always wanted to try reading through the Bible and I believe that the Lord lead me to this group so that I wouldn’t be alone in my endeavor. I’m starting tomorrow! God Bless!

I have been trying to spend more quiet time with God. I seem to pray through out the day, but never set aside that quiet time. I feel that God is really asking me to do this, so when I saw the Bible in 90 days on Toni’s site, I knew I had to do it! I just received the Bible and the additional books yesterday in the mail, but I am caught up already! I am really looking forward to this! Thank yo so much for hosting this and all your encouragement!!!

26 Tiffany Kamm January 3, 2010 at 9:56 am

I’m in! I got the 90 Day Bible yesterday and caught up on the first two readings!

27 Meredith Bleasdell January 3, 2010 at 1:47 pm

I can’t remember if I posted but I am in and moving right along. And four of my friends are reading along with me! We are meeting weekly to encourage one another. Yea God for His Word and yea that we are commited to reading it through!

I’ll commit to reading the Bible in 90 days, but not to blogging about it…probably won’t have time to do both!

30 Michelle January 4, 2010 at 9:53 am

YEp, I’m in. I had printed the schedule before I saw this community. I haven’t told very many people because I usually fail miserably at stuff like this.

31 Zoe January 4, 2010 at 10:18 am

I’m in! Just read about it on It’s Almost Naptime. Excited for the challenge! Though I am just using my regular Bible (got a new Bible for Christmas, yippee!), but with the 90 day reading schedule.

32 jhul January 4, 2010 at 11:08 am

i started my 90 day reading yesterday, i just saw it while browsing the net, for a change i decided to do it also, i searched a any sched online and i found out a pdf file, i’m using my NASB version, but i don’t have any clue on how to do it.

I started by reading 16 chapters a day and write any revelations or insights i found.

I know my great-grandmother read her Bible everyday. I think that has influenced me in my walk. I often wonder what prayers she might have had for me. I hitnk it is great that your grandmother is an influence for you. :)

I am in. I know I am a few days behind (seeing as how it started on the first and it is now the seventh) but I read fast and I am really interested in this. My church read the NT in 40 days and I liked the schedule, the fact that the end was in sight, and that there were others doing it with me. Thank you for the nudge to do something I have always wanted to do.
