My husband is a minister, so Sunday is a really busy day for us. Other than that, I really try to make Sunday a more relaxed day. It still ends up being the most exhausting day of the week!

We've always tried to set the Lord's Day apart as a day of rest. We eat a simple breakfast so there are not many dishes to clean and although we have a "feast" for lunch, we do all the food preparation the day before.

I've never posted on Sunday, because of precisely this, until the 90 Day Challenge. I now write a check-in post for those participating in the 90 Day Challenge on Saturday and have it scheduled to post on Sunday. I'm not doing anything on Sunday, but perhaps I'm encouraging others to get online on Sunday. Have to ask my hubby about this one.

i wont be blogging on Sunday either. I wish I knew exactly how to honor the Sabbath. As a ministers family we are the busiest on Sundays. I am open to suggestions?
Come check out my blogging on each days readings.

We have found many simple ways to honor the Lord's Day. Our Jewish friends light a candle the night before Sabbath, so that's a custom our family also adopted. Saturday before supper, we light a candle and ask the Lord to cleanse and prepare our hearts to celebrate Him in a special way the following day. We save housework and blogging for other days, and use the time for encouraging others. Besides focusing our attention on God and others, it gives the week/life a healthy rhythm.

Funny, I've been thinking about this too. It's not as easy as I thought it would be. I suppose that's why God knew it needed to be one of His top ten :-)

I love how you prayed "Give us the understanding we need and let us move on with the rest." That has been the hardest thing for me to "move on".

I love how God reminds them in Deut 5 ( also the ten commandments) that they were slaves in Egypt. But God redeemed them so now they have the CHOICE to rest because they are no longer bound in chains.
