B 90 Days SOAP: What is your strength?

February 9, 2010

Day 40 of the Bible in 90 Days

Scripture: Psalms 28:7

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him and I am helped.

Observation: The Lord offers all the strength we could ever need… and it’s ours for the asking.

Application: I LOVE this verse.

I had it engraved on my brother’s first iPod when he went to serve all of us in Iraq.

I meditate it often when I am cycling and feeling tired or especially challenged. I keep it written on a little piece of paper in my cycling bag so it is with me on the road.

I love that the Lord wants us to turn to Him… and that He will be there. He is our strength and wants us to lean on Him.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for being my strength and my shield in seemingly little situations and big alike. Thank you for keeping my brother safe. And thank you for your promise to continue to be there for us always. My heart trusts in you and you give me all I need. Thank you, Lord.

What is your strength? Have you seen His strength in you or someone you love?

Love this verse. The entire book of Psalms is so comforting and encouraging. The Lord gave me strength this past week at Blissdom. I was absolutely terrified about meeting new people and then hosting the Christian meet-up on top of that too. But the Lord never us more than we can handy, and He can me the strength to make it through the conference.

BTW – first time at your blog. I’m loving it. :)

The book of Psalms gives me strength. Reading the authors’ words of confidence in God reminds me to find my strength in Him.
