B 90 Days Week 6/ Day 36 Check in

Greetings Blogging Through the Bible in 90 Days/ Bible in 90 Days readers!

If you started with us on July 2, then you are already more than 1/3 of the way there!

Stick a bookmark in your Bible, turn it sideways and look at how much of His Word you have read consecutively! Pretty cool, don’t you think?

And even cooler is what you must be hearing from Him through all of this time you have spent together! And also cool is how many new people have been praying for you since July 2!

Even if you are not caught up, I would guess that you are still much farther along than you would have been had you not been reading with us. And that’s something worth sticking to… right?

To those of you who are not caught up and feeling a little frustrated, I have this to say:

No, you may not be more than 1/3 of the way into the reading. But you are more than 1/3 of the way into the calendar commitment. I bet if you rev it up for the next week or so, you WILL be caught up with the reading, as well. Make it a goal to be with us by Day 45 on August 18, our halfway point.  Pray about it. Ask Him to show you when to read. If you are really far back, then make it a goal to be half-way caught up by August 18, and completely caught up by September. You can do this, if you want to. He will help you. And I will do what I can to help you, too!!

To those of you are are caught up, I have this:

Congratulations on sticking to an incredibly worthy goal! Keep it up and it won’t be long before you will have read the entire Bible with us! I have no doubt sermons are already having more meaning for you. I am thrilled and excited for you… Keep it up!!

Today, as you check in and let us know where you are in the reading, let us know where you are reading. Consider telling us one place you have been reading your Bible that you might not have read it so much before this challenge. It’s always fun to see how everyone else is reading!

A few of my crazy places?

  • Sitting on the floor of a store waiting for my number to be called.
  • Waiting for my kids during their activities where someone always asks if what I’m reading is a good book. (Yeah… THE Good Book!)
  • Hiding in the bathroom.
  • On the road waiting for a traffic accident to be cleared. We were at a standstill for a very long time. I promise.
  • And snuggling with my kids while they read books of their own.

Link up, leave a comment and let us know how (and where) you are doing.

If you are linking a blog post, the post must mention where you are in the reading and be linked back to this post. It also must be a current post, published after the last check-in date.

The linky closes Tuesday morning at 2 a.m. CST.

Hope to see you tonight on Twitter from 8-9 CST to chat about the reading using the #B90Days hashtag.

  2. I did my post Sunday night, but did not get to link up, yesterday was a travel day for me, and I was too exhausted last night to battle with dial-up internet. It’s there, though!

I’m caught up! counting down until we move to Utah…15 more days!

  4. I am still on track! Yay! I am learning so much and can’t wait to read on!

  5. I am still reading, even though I have been playing a yo-yo game of catch up/ fall behind. I am reading every day, so the plan is to continue reading a little more each day, and Friday, which is free of any practices, etc. I will read continuously. Except I am going to the movies with a friend to celebrate my birthday. I think my problem is going to bed too late and waking late. There, I said it, so now I can remedy it. :-D

  6. Hi! Still caught up, had a great weekend at MOPS convention in Orlando… pulling that 90 day bible out REALLY encourage others to get going on reading, so it was great!

  7. I joined your reading about a week late and am trying to catch up. I am currently on day 30 and gaining a day or 2 every week! This bible reading has been a rich, wonderful blessing!

  8. I’m even behind on checking in! I have time this weekend set aside to catch up. I’m reading a few extra pages each night as well. Getting off on my weekend reading really messed me up.

  9. I am one day behind, we were on vacation and I was not able to check in on time – sorry! Hope to get unpacked and caught up today!

I’m almost finished with 2 Kings and will be caught up by Day 45s

  11. I’m still on track even though I’m a little behind on posting this!

  12. I am getting a little more caught up, trying to read and extra 1/2 day each day. Even though I am behind, I can tell the sermons at church have had so much more meaning since I’ve been reading. Honestly, it seems that every Sunday the message came straight from something I had read that week. And I understand it so much more than before. I usually read in the morning before everyone in the house awakes, but some days I have been reading during my lunch break, in the car, and yes it has been 100 degrees outside. But in the shade, the Lord makes it just cool enough to bear. He is good!

  13. Ever wake up from a sound sleep with something on your mind? That was me this morning realizing I forgot to check in yesterday and it was my second miss. I understand according to your guidelines this knocks me out, but I am “hooked” and fully committed to continue even though I’m still in 2 Chronicles. God bless you and thank you for your support and encouragement.

  14. Well I’m several days behind but that is ok. I’m reading some everyday and I will be caught up soon. Things in my life will settle down a little bit for the rest of the week (hopefully) and I’m sure that will allow me time to catch up. I have faith that I will finish with you all right on time! Where have I read? Pretty much EVERYWHERE! In the morning before getting out of bed, at bedtime before going to sleep, sitting next to the hubby on the couch, at the hospital waiting for an appointment, sitting in the van waiting for the hubby. I read on my phone so I always have it with me and can pick it up whenever I have an extra 5 minutes.

  15. Still plugging away, a little behind as always.

I am still with you although I was ‘off grid’ for a bit and could not check email. We traveled to visit my family and I was worried about how I would keep up with travel, family, visits, jet lag etc.. Fortunately for me, I have two great boys who kept me accountable. ‘Where are you Mamma?”, “Have you read your Bible today, Mamma?” I could not bear to disappoint them.
I am really enjoying the readings and have found numerous great parenting tips that I am slowly trying to incorporate in our family. My overall sense from all the reading is how amazingly gracious, compassionate and merciful my God is – He keeps redeeming, keeps forgiving, keeps rescuing, never a harsh word just kindness, love and grace.
I read in my bedroom each morning now that my husband is away, and do not go out to turn on the coffee until I have done my reading. So I do not have any different places that I read, I read in bed every morning…..
In the beginning I was concerned that I would get bogged down in Numbers and prayed specifically for guidance, and that day I read three days worth without noticing it, so I am still 2 days ahead. Not because I wanted to, but that is how God answered that prayer right then and there – I was not bogged down but just was so caught up in the reading that I missed not one but two end of day reading markers…

  17. I thought I was going to be able to make up being a tad behind today, but it didn’t quite happen. I’m about 1/2 a day behind. Saturdays really tend to kill me! I love the reading recently though. I thought Ezra and Nehemiah were really interesting especially because I don’t think I’ve ever read them before.
The place I’ve read my Bible that I never have before is at the park, sitting in the sand while my kids play with sand toys next to me.

  18. On track and still going strong!

I read on my sofa or in bed. Not too exciting, but usually when I am out anywhere I am too busy chasing two boys in opposite directions to get any reading done. :)

So sorry for not checking in last week!
I’m still super behind and am trying my best not to feel overwhelmed or discouraged – I’m almost done with 1 Chronicles.

  20. Last week I got several days behind, but was able to plug through and catch up. I’m back on track now! So far I have the most success if I wake up before my house does and read as much as I can. If I don’t finish, I can still make opportunities during the day. I recently read while sitting on the bathroom floor potty training my 2 yr old son last week. Maybe that’s how I caught up….I needed to be in the Word to keep me sane!!

  21. still behind. hope to catch up soon.
