B90Days Group 35/ Leslie

Welcome to your group’s check in and communication page for the July- October 2011 edition of the Bible in 90 Days!

Your mentor is Leslie.

Leslie completed The Bible in 90 Days for the first time in the Spring of 2011. She is a stay at home, homeschooling mom to 4 young children and enjoys watching her children learn from the world around them as well as with fellow homeschoolers. Leslie blogs through the B90 experience at Going through The Bible in 90 Days!

Each Monday you are required to visit this page and share where you are in the reading. To do that, leave a comment sharing where you are in the reading (i.e. “I am up to date in the reading,” or “I am up to Genesis 18,” or “I am 4 days behind.”).  After you share your reading status, consider leaving an encouraging comment on someone else’s entry. To do that, click on “reply” under their comment add your comment and your comment will be linked to hers (or his).

This page is a place for your group to connect, pray for each other and hold each other accountable. When you leave your first comment, consider checking the box which says “Notify me of follow-up comments” and fill out the subsequent form. This will enable you to get an email as new comments are added to the page and help you to keep up with your group that way, if you would like.

If you will be unable to check in one week, please contact your mentor directly so that she will know. Also, if you decide to drop out for any reason, please also let your mentor know so we can remove you from the group.

This page will keep all of the comments from the entire session. Newer comments will display at the top.

Thank you for reading with us! I hope you find it to be as amazing as I have every time.

Okay, enough of me… now it’s your time to share.

I finished today on day 90!! I was scheduled to finish on day 89 but due to unforeseen events, I had to wait until today to finish. I am so glad that I did this and I praise God for making it happen!

YAY!!! CONGRATS to you on finishing the B90 session!!!! I really hope and pray that it has blessed you thus far and that those blessings continue to rain down on you as you continue to grow closer to God each and everyday. PRAISE GOD for all of our grads making it through!!! :D

  • Angie

I finished today! I honestly cannot tell you how I got from Acts through Revelation in the few days. For those who don’t yet see the end in sight, keep on!! You can do it!!

I am ever amazed at how God gives us what we need when we need it. Hearing of the passing of Steve Jobs and thinking upon his earthly life versus the unknown of his eternity…it gave so much relevance to hearing Paul’s words and encouragement and just finishing the New Testament in general. His Word is so clear…no matter what we do on this planet, the only thing that will remain in the end is whether we made a decision for Christ.

As you each continue on in your journeys, may this season in His Word have ripple effects for the rest of your lives! May you be a beacon to others!

    With His Love,
    Angie

CONGRATS to you, Angie, and you’re so right. We must take a stand for Christ in all we do. This life is nothing without Him. :) Blessings to you!

So very glad to hear you will be finishing tomorrow!!! It’ll be wonderful to celebrate each time one of us reaches our goal!!!

Have a great week finishing the race, dear ones. I am a bit behind but still have it planned to be right in there with you to finish this week! How delightful!

I will post again when the final word is read.

I’m on track to finish on day 89! 5 more days for me….It will be an accomplishment that I must give God all of the glory for!

I will admit that I’m a little sad that we are getting close to the end of our B90 Summer session. It has been an honor to be here with you ladies and I pray that you have been greatly blessed during these past few months and that you continue to see God’s awesome hand move in your life.

As for me, I’m right on track to finish on day 88, so 4 more days for me. Getting really excited to read that last page and say ‘I DID IT!’ again. What an amazing journey reading through the Bible with you!

I have sent out an email with a few pieces of info in it, so be sure to check your emails and if you did not receive anything, please let me know. My email is lmwestenhaver@yahoo.com. I can’t wait to see more names from our group going up under the ‘Summer 2011 B90 Grads’ over there on the right!!!! Have a blessed week!

  • Lynnag

Seems like the countdown has begun. I agree with Angie-it is very exciting and a little sad at the same time. I’m still a few days behind but still reading! Hope everyone has a great week.

  • Angie

10 days to go…woohoo! So excited to cross the finish line but sad for the journey to end…already praying on whether God wants me to do this again in the winter/spring 2012.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1258098152 Leslie Terry Westenhaver

EEP! I’m checking in a day late as well…sorry ladies. While life has sure gotten hectic (our chimney started falling off of our house a few weeks ago, insurance denied our claim, so we had to deal with it on our own), I have been staying on track with my reading by the grace of God!! He really does know what we need when we need it. I love that time in the evenings devoted to just laying down, nursing my baby to sleep as I read through my Bible. It’s great!

I hope everyone is doing well…only 11 more days until we’re there!!! And if you may finish a bit later, hey, that’s ok too. Sometimes in this last week or two, though, you get a bit more motivation to read a bit more in the evenings and you will find yourself finishing up in the 90 days as well. Either way, we’re still here cheering you on to the finish line!!! I hope everyone is having a blessed week!

Checking in a day late…all set to finish in 89 days at this point. So, praise the Lord, I’m still on track! We’re into the final stretch; don’t give up!

I just have to share….I had such an intense “need” to finish the reading early. It was like I knew if I didn’t finish it when I did, there is no way I would finish it on time–if at all. I read and I read….I read some days until my eyes blurred. I read when I woke up in the morning, and I read before I went to sleep at night. It became almost an obsession.

About a week ago my husband received a call from a job application he put in *2* years ago. They would love to have him, they would match his current pay, pay our moving expenses, etc. The catch is–they need him to start by the end of the month. I’m excited about the move, it’s back to Alabama where almost all of our family lives. But I have less than 2 weeks to move to a new state–and find somewhere to live BEFORE I get there. :)

Had I not finished before this all happened, there is no way I would be able to finish it on time. God knew all this was coming, and he put it in my heart to “hurry up”. Finishing it was a major desire of mine, and by God’s grace and His prodding, I was able to finish it. :) This is the 3rd time I have done this in 2 years–and my 4th attempt (the first time I crashed and burned on it).

This time I chose a “Read the Bible Chronologically in a Year” Bible as a change of pace. It was very different, but enjoyable. I simply went through the index at the front and divided it into 90 “days”. It was harder in some aspects because the familiar parts were no longer where I thought they should be. LOL But at the same time, it was an awesome way to see how the story ties together chronologically.

Stick in there…even if you’re behind. Trust me–the best is yet to come!

WOW! What a powerful testimony to listening to and following God’s leading in our lives. Just amazing!!!! CONGRATS on the job offer and praying for a smooth move and transition to the new place and job. :)

    • Angie

Thank you Nellwyn for sharing this. How awesome is our God. He knows what we need, when we need it!

Will be praying for all you have ahead of you. So grateful you will be closer to family.

Thanks again for sharing your incredible story of how God work in your life in these 90 days!

  • Angie

I just finish Mark! I was so far behind at this point last week but determined to keep going and here I am. I fell behind last B90 as well, buckled down, and finished. I was so grateful that I didn’t quit then or now.

I just read through the posts…Beth, you can do it!!! So proud of each of you for persevering. This is such a life-changing journey. In the months ahead you will look back on this and be so grateful that you kept going.

    Praying for you all!

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1258098152 Leslie Terry Westenhaver

Great job, Angie! Sometimes it can be difficult to get the motivation to catch up when you’re behind, but that’s so wonderful that you did! Only a few weeks to go now….and yes, what an awesome, life-changing journey the B90 program is! SO happy to have others to share it with here on MomsToolbox!!! :)

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1367630388 Cindy Negrotto McDaniels

Hello ladies! I am one day behind at this point (due to a long road trip weekend–I was driving). Since I haven’t used any of my grace days yet, I may just stay one day behind and still finish within the 90 days. Only 20 days left?! Where did the last 70 days go?!

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1258098152 Leslie Terry Westenhaver

It really does fly once you get this far. We’re so close now!!! Great job keeping up and I can’t wait until we all cross that ‘finish line’ for this program and can say that we’ve all ready through the entire Bible! It’s a WONDERFUL feeling!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1258098152 Leslie Terry Westenhaver

YAY! I can see the comments now! Whew…started to get worried there for a minute that I wouldn’t make check-in tonight. For some reason I couldn’t pull up the comments earlier, but all is good now.

As for me, after my reading for today this evening (about to go put baby down right now and read), I’ll be on track. Loving that we’re in the NT now!!! Not that the OT isn’t wonderful, but once you get to the NT, you know you’re getting SO close to finishing the program!

How is everyone else hanging in there??? I know this time of year is super busy and super nice outside and we want to spend all our time out there, but just keep pressing on, we’re almost there!!!!! I really am so proud of each of you who are still reading, and for those who have already finished. We have lost some people along the way, but I pray that God blesses them and that they attempt to read with momstoolbox again in the future. This truly is such a wonderful experience! Let me know if you need specific prayer. I’m always here to listen, lend a shoulder and give encouragement as the Lord leads. I know I’m having some struggles in my own life right now and that Satan is really trying to throw some things off track, but THANK GOD for His mercy and grace that is new everyday!!! I pray that everyone is making it through this time feeling that even if things aren’t going the way you want, you know that God is right there along side you leading you on, and you can have that amazing hope to continue on.

Have a wonderful week, ladies, and God Bless!

  • Lynnag

Somehow I have fallen two days behind but still reading!

    • http://www.momstoolbox.com Amy @ MomsToolbox

I bet you can make those two days up in no time. :) I’m glad you are still reading. :)

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1258098152 Leslie Terry Westenhaver

Hey, you’re still reading, and that’s AWESOME!!! Just keep on and as Amy said, you’ll be back on schedule in no time. And remember….in the 90 days, those last 2 are built-in ‘grace days’, so you’re not really behind. :)

  • Beth

I’m trying to double up because I am so far behind. The lady who finished in 61 gives me hope because I will have to do two readings per day for about 20 days to catch up. But I’m still reading and will finish even if it takes more than 90 days. I’m not giving up, nor am I allowing the pressure or my own competitive spirit to make me feel like a failure because I am behind. I am just enjoying being in God’s word!

    • http://www.momstoolbox.com Amy @ MomsToolbox

That sounds great. Beth!! I love your commitment! :)

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1258098152 Leslie Terry Westenhaver

It certainly is a joy to be in God’s Word! Doesn’t matter how many days it takes you, we’re here to cheer you on and celebrate when you finish!!! GO BETH!!!! :D

    • Angie

Beth…I hope you are still pressing on dear one!
