b90-check-in

Welcome to the Week 13 check in post for the Bible in 90 Days with MomsToolbox!

Today is our 85th day of reading, and our LAST weekly check in.
Can you believe we have been in the Word together for nearly 3 months?! This is definitely the homestretch and, if you look ahead at the reading schedule for the week, you’ll notice that there are 2 make up days built in to the schedule.

For those of you who are finished, PLEASE drop me an email (amy (at) momstoolbox (dot) com) to let me know you have finished. I want to celebrate with you!

I have no doubt there are many of you who are frustrated at this point and wondering if you should just throw in the towel.

“What’s the big deal about 90 days? I am spending more time in the Word and that is what matters,” you may be thinking. Well, you are kinda right– except you wanted to read the ENTIRE Bible. And you wanted to do it in 90 days. And experience shows that if you do not finish with the group, you are not likely to complete the reading unless you are already super-duper close.

This week might already be a challenging one. You may be a month behind the schedule. I still cannot stress the importance of finishing, or coming as close to finishing at all possible THIS week. Yes, now. Even as you wait in the hospital for test results, even as your marriage is struggling, even as your role as mom has you crying, even as you struggle with depression or a a hard project at work or are celebrating your wedding or are putting finishing touches on your daughter’s wedding.

MAKE the TIME TO READ.

That time will not present itself. Read while you have a bowl of cereal. Read while you wait 10 minutes for somebody. Read while you are waiting for the pot to boil. Read while your loved one is in surgery. Read while your kids nap. Read before you go to sleep. Read while your husband watches TV. Every 10 minutes of reading adds up. You CAN do this. the question is, how badly do you want to read His Word, His gift to you? How important is it to you?

Do it. This week. With us.

And then send me a note when you have completed it,

I KNOW you can.

Here’s this week’s schedule:

  • Day 85 – Hebrews 1:1 – James 3:12
  • Day 86 – James 3:13 – 3 John 14
  • Day 87 – Jude 1 – Revelation 17:18
  • Day 88 – Revelation 18:1 – 22:21
  • Day 89 – Make-Up Day
  • Day 90 – Make-Up Day

Each day’s assignment will also be posted on MomsToolbox each day as well as as on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

You can also download the Bible in 90 Days reading schedule or, if you are using the official Bible in 90 Days Bible, you already have it marked in your Bible.

Make it a point to read every day no matter what, even if you don’t have a block of time, read something. Carry your Bible with you everywhere throughout the day until you get your reading finished. Plan on it taking about an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes per day.

Thanks so much for reading with me. Your reading encourages my reading… and the hundreds others, too, no doubt!

Soooo, ready to check in?

Leave a comment below this post and let us know how it’s going. Are you going to finish with us this week?

Still reading, still behind, still determined to finish on time. Late checking in though. I am reading day and night so that I can complete this very important commitment that I made to the Lord, to myself, and of course to Amy to finish on time.

    1. Keep it up, Judith. I’m thankful you are committed and reading with us.

Still on track and so excited that I am going to finish strong! I have been so blessed by participating in this. Not only from the encouragement I read here but also the encouragement that my Facebook leader gives our group every day! I have gotten so much insight out of reading the Bible so quickly, I never thought I would get much out of it, boy was I wrong! Thank you so much for putting this together and keeping me accountable every week!

    1. AWESOME! I am so thankful you joined us and really appreciate you sharing your thoughts. (I just might print them out and stick them on my computer for those days I’m feeling down. :) ) I love this program and am thankful you are committed and reaping the benefits. It’s pretty amazing stuff.

I will not finish on time. But I am a group leader and have finished before. I will keep reading, and am willing to keep emailing weekly with anyone who needs that encouragement to finish. so if that is a need, comment here I guess. Thank you so much for this opportunity, Amy! Hope this was ok to post.

    1. Definitely okay to post.. I love and respect your honesty. Keep to it, my friend.. let’s get as many as we can over that finish line. :)

I am still reading, just finishing Old testament, so I definitely will not finish by 7/25, but I will continue to read!

    1. Keep on going, sister! (And I just might keep posting a few check ins for those a tad behind.) :)

I’m current and will finish up on schedule. It’s been harder for me to ‘breeze through’ the New Testament because I want to stop & study… which negates the point of the 90 day read through. Nevertheless, this has been an amazing experience. I will probably use the template & do another 90 day read through as soon as I finish up Revelation… yes.. it was that good ! Thanks.

    1. YesSSSSSSSSS! And I hear you an wanting to stop and study!! Such a challenge to keep rolling sometimes!

    1. Woooo-Hoooo! :)))))

  16. A day behind

    1. That’s AWESOME!

  17. Amy is so right about finishing, no matter how long it takes. It is a “motivator” to be reading with the group, but it is exciting and fulfilling to finish even later.

Sadly, it is clear that I will not be finishing within 90 days now due to unforeseen circumstances, but I have finished 4 or 5 times before, so I know how this goes, and it is wonderful! I am just glad that I have read what I have read so that it could help prepare me, as much as anything possibly could, for the news I received yesterday morning. We received a phone call that in an instant forever changed our lives. Our pregnant niece and two of her very young children were swept away from their home in a flash flood and didn’t survive Saturday night. The dad and two of the older children did survive, but are in the hospital now. It happened in an instant after they received 4 inches of rain in an hour. That had NEVER happened before where she lived!

I recall seeing signs along the road in my lifetime that have said “Prepare to meet God.” It is evident that none of us knows the hour or circumstances when that will happen for each of us. She was young and vibrant, making happy plans for her fifth child. We are beyond sad… actually kind of numb right now. Please pray for the family, especially the children who survived after being caught in trees for a couple of hours. How they will need their mother! Only God can supply what is needed now.

Others in the area also lost their homes and cars, but they are so thankful to be alive! Please pray for the entire community. They are good people and will help each other. I keep reminding myself to “Hope thou in God, for I shall yet see the help of His countenance.” Pray that I can be Jesus to them… Jesus with skin on.

More and more in my life, I realize that an ordinary ol’ routine day is such a blessing!!

CONGRATULATIONS to all who are finishing! I am so proud of you!! May our Lord continue to bless you as you delight in His Word. And you will be amazed at how it will come to your mind to aid you in the future in your time of need or just to bless you, as He will continuously speak to your heart through His Word! :o)

Much love to all the readers,
    Bettie

    2. Bettie, may God give you and your family strength during his trying time. May all of you find comfort in Him!! Praying with you!

    3. Oh my goodness, Bettie. I am so so so sorry to hear this and will be in prayer for your family and the entire community. What a horrible tragedy.

      Dropping an email to you….

  18. A few days behind- I may not finish on schedule….but I will finish! Learning so much!

    1. So glad you are keeping at it. :)

  19. Still on track!

    1. Awesome! Keep it up!

  21. I’m still reading, but I am a good week behind.

    1. Keep it up… you CAN do this. If you need to move your goal back a week, do, but don’t lose sight.

  22. Ditto what Lisa said!

  23. I did it! I finished the challenge yesterday!! Thank you again Amy for hosting this!! :)

    1. WOOOO-HOOOOO! I’m so excited for you and those around you!! Thank you for reading with us!!!!

  24. Still on track, so excited to see the end in sight! Love the habit of reading this has created and has shown me how much time I waste everyday that could be used for bible reading/study!

    1. Oh boy, me too!! I have also noted thru this how much time I waste.

      1. It’s humbling, isn’t it?! Me, too. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
