Bible in 90 Days: Week 3 (July – October 2016 Read-Through) #B90Days

Bible in 90 Days Week 3

Welcome to Week 3 of the Bible in 90 Days with MomsToolbox!

It’s WEEK THREE, y’all!!!

We have been reading the Bible together for two whole weeks. Pretty cool, eh?

How’s the reading going? Hold tight and I’ll have you check in by leaving a comment ver soon. But first…

How’s it going? This is where, for me and a lot of other readers, too, it gets tough. The enthusiasm is still there, but life is moving on and finding that hour-ish each day is a bit more challenging.

If  you’re feeling a time crunch, and maybe even starting to slip a bit behind I’d like for you to stop for a sec.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

And then, stop and think about what you are doing here.

You are laying the foundation to read the ENTIRE BIBLE which is a really awesome, big, cool deal.

In its own right, it’s pretty cool, but YOU had a reason why YOU wanted to read the entire Bible this time. What was it? Think about it a moment and maybe even write it down on a piece of paper you can tape onto your bathroom mirror.

Does it still hold true?  I bet it does. Is it worth it to make it happen? I bet it is.

Wanna know my why?

I love hearing Him daily and I felt I really needed to ‘Word up.’ My business is at a major crazy exciting hectic time and I wanted to be sure to keep my focus where it should be: on Him first. I find than when I really do that, things go better. And even bumps and craziness is easier to take when I am rooted in Him. I like reading the Bible in a fast-paced reading plan versus in a devotional guide because I feel like I hear Him more directly this way. And it is always so amazing to read the WHOLE THING cover to cover. He always amazes me. There is always good stuff in there.

Okay, now that we’re clear on that, we can keep rolling.

The reading this past week got a bit repetitive and you might have even been irritated or angry at one point or two. This is big stuff we are reading.

I’d like to suggest that as things strike you feel free to log them somewhere, but don’t stop and research. Just keep rolling, keep reading and keep praying that He guides you so that you hear what He wants you to hear as you read.

These resources can be a big help as things get confusing:

Sigh. Levity us was hard for me to read. Some parts I had to read over and over, the same in Numbers. I like to think about what I read, but all the instructions and descriptions just sort of swam in a verbal soup. I try to read during the evening, as it winds down but often I am on the road or painting or working on one of my properties. Excuses, excuses. I feel like I am mostly just taking in words but not really pondering or understanding what I read. I want to savor parts of scripture, but find myself gulping and swallowing.

If you know what I mean…. at this point, I am 3 days behind.

  2. Still reading. I like to read best with a paper Bible, but this time, I seem to be reading a lot on my Kindle and phone.

  3. I’m about three days behind. Glad to read your post today or I may have given up. Thanks😊

  4. I’m still on track. I think the reading was easier this time because I knew what to expect. I’m focusing on obedience this week from Deuteronomy 5:33.

I’m reading because I want to finish and know that I have Read. Every. Word. I made it through Jeremiah last time. I’ve done several bible studies on my own or through Bible Study Fellowship, covering several books of the Bible, but I want to say I have read it all, cover to cover. Then I feel like I can go back to mini studies and have a better understanding of the whole picture.

    1. Awesome, Stacie! I’m so proud of you for joining us again. :)

  5. I’m still on track. The second week is the hardest, but getting into a rhythm helps a lot. The reading is now a regular part of my day.

    1. Establishing that rhythm is a massive help! Kudos to you for making it a regular part of your day!!
