Blogging Through the Gospels: Are you willing to share your testimony?

Guest SOAP Post from Milly.

The reading for Wednesday is John Chapter 4.

Scripture:

John 4:29 NIV

“Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Christ?”

Observation:

Jesus had just met the Samaritan woman at the well and explained to her about the gift of living water available for all who believe and ask. She recognized how special and amazing he was and went to town to share with the people. Am I as eager to share with others when I have experienced the power of Jesus in my life, or have I hesitated, thinking they won’t want to hear about my experience?

Application:

The Samaritan woman shared her testimony of her experience with Jesus at the well. Because of her sharing they came to see and hear Jesus and now they believed. Often, I feel hesitant to share my faith with others. I initially want to share, then fear and doubt creeps in and life goes on as usual. The Samaritan woman just shared her personal experience and the people in turn were led to experience Jesus for themselves. We can and are called to do the same.

Prayer:

Lord, help me to be a strong witness for you, never hesitating to share with others how you are impacting my life. Let the power of your Spirit fill me with confidence. Teach and empower me be to an effective witness to those around me. Thank you Lord Jesus for being patient with me as I strive to be a true worshiper, worshiping you in spirit and truth.

  1. We need to interact and witness to everyone, not just our little tight groups…

    Ugh.
    Mild rebuke, and conviction.
    All before breakfast.
    :/
Grateful for the involvement of a Holy God in the life of this pathetic sinner….
