Group 25 Bible in 90 Days Check In

Greetings Group 25!  We are so close to the end of this 90 day journey – I hope the fact that the end is in sight will motivate you to keep going!

After reading your check-in posts, I’d like to propose a few prayer requests.  Please keep these people in your prayers this week.  (If you have any prayer requests, please leave them in your check-in post or send me an email at kristen_ng04@yahoo.com.)

Week of March 21st – Please pray for:

  • All the ladies in Group 25 who are behind in their reading
  • Karen H, for her family dealing with sickness, her grandmother who is struggling after a stroke, and her Grand-Aunt, who passed away
  • Althea, for strength and comfort as the anniversary of her husband’s passing approaches
  • Dana’s uncle, who passed away, and the loss this has been for her aunt, to whom he was married for almost 50 years
  • Allyson, who delivered a healthy baby boy, Daniel, on January 17th
  • Laura P’s mother-in-law, who is living with cancer and underwent treatment on March 1
  • Jennifer and her family, who are currently dealing with some family issues

Please leave a comment to let me know where you are in your reading and how it is going in general.  I would love it if, in addition to leaving comments about your own progress, we could also view and comment on each others check-in posts.  I truly hope that our group becomes a community to encourage each other and keep us accountable to reaching our goal!

You can always reach me by email at kristen_ng04@yahoo.com with concerns, questions, prayer requests, etc.  I’m on Twitter at @kris10mary and I blog at Ng Things.  I’ve also created a “list” on Twitter, so we can easily follow the “tweets” from the ladies in our group.  The name of the list is b90days-group-25 – please let me know if I can add your Twitter handle!

Blessings to you as you continue along this journey.  While you are reading, please keep in mind that God is beside you on this journey and YOU CAN DO IT!

Peace, Kristen

I did it!!! I finished my reading yesterday. (03-30-2011) Thank you for all of your encouragement and support. The Bible has connected for me, the last 3 months, in a way that it never has in the last 25 years. What a blessing!

So thankful to say I have finished reading! My first time reading the bible all the way through and it has been such a blessing. I am now in the habit of reading the Bible everyday that I can’t stop. I am also very thankful for this group, the prayers, and encouragement. God bless you as you continue on this journey.

I am done I have had challenges thanks Ladies for the prayers I am starting to review for the next few days until 90 days is up

  • Karen H

Elated to be able to tell you that I completed my reading this morning – with 5 days to spare!
I had no idea that it was possible to read the entire Bible in a short 3 months, but it is and what an adventure! To be sure, there were some days I felt like I was just slogging through, but many others where I reached the end of the days scheduled reading thinking I could go on longer (and sometimes I did!).
I have read through the Bible many times before, usually over a whole year, taking bits from the OT and NT each day. This was the first time I read through straight from Genesis to Revelation. I really liked how God’s Story flowed seamlessly because I was reading bigger chunks at a time.
To those who are still struggling – don’t give up! You can do it and you’ll be SO BLESSED when you do!

  • Dana

Still reading started reviewing some days fasting the reading is helping

  • Felecia

Still hear, still 2 days behind schedule and still not giving up! This has truly been a blessing.

Still behind…but still reading! Feeling encouraged.

  • Karen H

    Just a few days more…!

  • Karen H

17 days remaining – I can hardly believe how much I’ve read so far! I’ve been pretty tired lately, so this is a big encouragement that I can keep-on keeping on (even when I’m worn out).

Reading God’s word has been a healing journey for me. It has allowed me to draw closer to God as he speaks to me. So thankful.

Still behind but pressing on. Thank you for the prayers.

  • Karen H

I’m still hanging in there and keeping up to date.

Checking in for Monday, March 7th. I finished reading, so I’ve gone back to my Precepts John study-I couldn’t do both at the same time and still live life. : – ) I’m looking forward to a Spring session of the Bible in 90 Days. This was a huge benefit to my walk and prayer life.

  • Felecia

I am still plugging along, still a couple of days behind schedule, but not giving up!

Tomorrow morning my husband and I will be going to court to officially adopt my little 6 year old nephew! He has lived with us since he was 2 week a 6 days, so for us , this is just a formality; he is already ours. God is good, all the time!

  • Laura P

Oh my how did it get to be Thursday already? Monday slipped right passed me and apparently Tuesday and Wednesday did as well.

My reading is moving along. I have been enjoying the quiet time that I have each afternoon to just sit, read and reflect. My plan (haha, we all know how that goes) is to finish with you gals on day 90 but if I take a few extra days that is alright too.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

Oh and my mother-in-law had her gamma knife surgery on Tuesday (1st). They blasted the spot 4 times but prior to that it had been revealed that the spot had grown since the original MRI in mid-February. So needless to say we are praying that this shrinks the spot and that her cancer can take a break for a little while.

    ~Laura~

PS: Congratulations Kristen on the pregnancy!

  • Dana

Sorry missed check in still moving along

WOOT! WOOT! I finished on day 58! I woke up so many nights during the 2-3 a.m. hour and just read and read and read till the L-rd would let me fall back asleep. Sometimes I got back to sleep, and sometimes I just read till time to get up with hubby. By the time I got so far ahead, it was addictive and then I was reading every spare second just to see how many days I could come in under 90. So, now, I feel a bit of a let down as I was so driven and the reading consumed my time and thought life. I’m back to having time to work on my Precepts studies which fell behind. I’ll look forward to a Spring edition of the 90 Day Reading and I’ll stick with our group and the Twitter parties till the end of this cycle. Answered prayers here in regards to our difficulties with one of our kids, though not out of the woods, we’ve seen major advances for Jesus, salvation is clear now, and we were not even certain of that just a week ago! So, the foundation is set and we see the fruit of the many prayers and consistency in parenting. I encourage each of our group to persist in steady plodding. Winter blahs, heavy winter weather and equally heavy hearts can make for fearful retreat. But we serve a mighty G-D and He is faithful to provide for where He guides. Whether it takes 90 or +90 days, persevere dear friends. It is a worthy endeavor!

I’m still keeping up, but I’m loosing my steam a bit and feel like I’m just slogging through. We’re sick with colds, my grandmother had a stroke and is struggling, and my Grand-Aunt passed away yesterday morning, so that has had an impact on me in other areas as well.

  • http://livingwithgrief.wordpress.com/about/ Althea

I’m behind in my reading but still plugging away. The anniversary of my husband’s passing is approaching and I’m having a difficult time this year. Reading God’s word is very healing though. Very thankful for this program.

  • Jennifer

On Day 80, Acts 11. I was shooting for 60 days or less when I got so far ahead a couple of weeks ago, but I don’t think I’ll make it now. Close… This year has been a real treat reading through. Last year-not so much. There is a time and a season for everything. : – )

    Happy Monday ladies!

Last week the spring like temps tricked us poor Minnesotans. LOL We went from upper 40* weather with melting snow to being back in the 20′s with a fresh (10-17inches) layer of snow. I am so ready for springtime to be here!!

My reading is moving along. I am hoping that my son will take a rest this afternoon (he awoke at 5) so that I can do some reading then. If not, well then I may just put in a video for him to watch so I can get my reading done.

I heard from my MIL, her procedure will be performed on March 1.

Hope you all have a great week!

  • Felecia

I am checking in and I’m 2 days behind. I will catch up in a day or 2 but I will not allow it to hinder me. Being hard on myself helps no one and I am still very blessed by being in God’s word consistently. That is the beauty of getting older…you fret a lot less!

    Blessings,
    Felecia

  • Karen H

    Good morning!
I missed the check in last week because we had a little family vacation – the first in almost a decade (I’m not counting weekend trips to see grandparents as vacation…). It was good, but tiring.
Thankfully I was able to keep up with reading by reading a little ahead before the trip so there wasn’t so much while we were away. It helps that most of the reading was Psalms – my favorite book of the Bible.
So, here I am, checking in a little late, but still keeping up.

  • Jennifer

Hi ladies! I’m on day 72 Matthew 18. I’ve set my sights on finishing as quickly as I can as a goal. The L- rd keeps kindly waking me at the 3am meeting time ;-) so it works well. Some family issues with my 15 y/o daughter are difficult currently and the reading brings me much comfort.

    • Dana

      You go girl!!!!!!!
