Praying and faith and healing and such. Acts 3

Today our reading of Acts is Acts chapter 3.

Here is what stood out to me in today’s reading:

Scripture: Acts 3:16

By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has given this complete healing to him, as you can all see.

Observation:

True faith in Jesus healed this man and made him strong. It was not Peter or John’s power, but the power of faith ignited in the beggar through Jesus.

Application:

True faith can do a lot.

I need to lean on God more and on myself less. I need to present more things to Him, ask His guidance and then listen and follow. I bet He wants the big and the small.

Prayer:

Please forgive me, Lord, for not calling on your power nearly as often as I should.

Please guide me through the things you know are troubling me. Help me to hear your words and know what to do. Help me to order my days and minutes as you would have me do that and also bring healing to me.

Thank you for your amazing power and love. And thank you for your forgiveness of me for my mistake of not calling on that power nearly enough.

Prayer request:

Umm. In light of what grabbed me today I have a prayer request to share.

I have been deliberating sharing for a few weeks now, as I don’t have any real details, just a vague request. But He knows what I need and He knows all the details. And if I can ask you to pray for me for strength in cycling, as I have done in the past, then I should definitely be able to ask you for prayers concerning my health.

In December it came to light that I have a pretty large cyst inside of me that has been growing and needs to go.

My husband and I have been able to get a good laugh about it a bit here and there, as it makes me look a bit pregnant, but I am definitely not pregnant.

On Monday morning I am meeting the surgeon for the first time and from that point I’ll know more about what it could be and exactly what the course of action will be. I’ve already had blood tests, an ultrasound and CT scans. At this point, the expectation is that it isn’t anything alarming, but that it needs to go.

Please pray for me and the surgeon and for healing and resolution. God knows the rest.

Thank you.

Praying for both you and your doctors, Amy. You have blessed my life tremendously through hosting the Bible in 90 Days reading (which I am currently doing once again) and I am believing for God’s continuous blessings over you, your family, and your health.

“For I am the Lord who heals you.” (Exodus 15:26)
“Take heart, daughter, your faith has healed you.” (Matthew 9:22)

  6. Praying for you, Amy. May God bless you in this place of waiting and holding onto Him.

    1. Thank you. I really appreciate that.
