Welcome, 2010 Ultimate Blog Partiers!

Ultimate Blog Party 2010

Wow!  I can barely believe it has already been a year since last year’s Ultimate Blog Party… but isn’t that how it always is? Time sure flies!

I’m glad you’re back…. as a regular reader, 2010 Ultimate Blog Partier or guest that just happened to drop by today.

As you can see in my “About” box over there on the right, my goal with MomsToolbox is offer you tools to help you grow as a mom, and to share in that experience with you.

I’m a mom myself with a daughter who is 4, and two sons, 6 and 8, and a Danish daughter-for-a-year who is about to be 17. If all goes as planned, we will be hosting another foreign exchange student  this fall.

MomsToolbox is my chance to share my experiences with you and hope that we all benefit from the process.

Almost each day (except Sunday) I share what I’ve heard in my daily Bible reading via my SOAP posts. For April, I am reading through one chapter of Proverbs a day and blogging about it. I’d love for you to join me in that!

Before blogging through Proverbs, I blogged through the entire Bible in 90 days and invited my readers to join me in that endeavor. Nearly each day I posted my SOAP observations from the reading and invited readers to comment and read along with me. Completing that journey with such an amazing online group was a powerful experience. We encouraged each other via MomsToolbox, each others blogs at our weekly Twitter parties and on Twitter throughout the week. You can read a little more about it here. If you’ve ever wanted to read the Bible in its entirety, the Bible in 90 Days plan is the way to go. Perhaps you’ll consider joining our next group which begins July 5? Follow MomsToolbox on Twitter and follow the #b90days hashtag to stay in the loop.

Recently, I’ve also blogged quite a bit about my training for a the MS 150, two-day, 180-mile bicycle ride I’ll be riding in from Houston to Austin (and, yes, I’ll be camping out in a tent after the first 95 miles!). The ride benefits the Multiple Sclerosis Society. This will be my fourth two-day ride for MS. However, the last two rides had one day rained out and I had a terrible bout of food poisoning during one of those rides, so I only made it 26 miles on that one… I’m ready to take on both days and all 180 miles this year!!! (If you’re interested in following my ride, I’ll be posting photos and updates via the MomsToolbox Facebook Fan Page. I’d love for you to become a fan and send some encouraging words and prayers my way!)

After the ride, I’ll be polishing up Real (Experienced) Moms, a new feature for MomsToolbox which will launch just before Mother’s Day. It will feature interviews with more experienced moms sharing their stories of motherhood through the years. It is my hope this feature will spark great cross-generational conversations.

Please, take a look around and let me know what you think of MomsToolbox. You’ll also find fun birthday cakes like these butterfly cupcakes, castle cakes (one Lego, one princess), Indiana Jones party and cake and double-decker chocolate-chip cookie cake as well as my first bread machine disaster and other fun stuff. Oh! And if you ever wondered how to make frozen waffles in the toaster, I’ve got that covered, as well… On video.

I am always open to suggestions and requests.  And if you like to travel (or read about travel) please visit MomsTravelTales.com, my travel blog. Thanks for stopping by! And thanks, 5Minutes for Mom, for hosting the Ultimate Blog Party again this year!
