{"id":6324,"date":"2011-02-18T11:23:44","date_gmt":"2011-02-18T17:23:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.momstoolbox.com\/blog\/"},"modified":"2011-02-18T11:23:44","modified_gmt":"2011-02-18T17:23:44","slug":"grandmas-corn-chowder","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/www.momstoolbox.com\/blog\/grandmas-corn-chowder\/","title":{"rendered":"Grandma&#8217;s Corn Chowder"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>This comes from Rebecca of <a href=\"http:\/\/momsmustardseeds.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Moms Mustard Seeds<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Grandma&#8217;s Corn Chowder<\/strong><br \/>\n2 TBS Butter<br \/>\nMedium Onion (chopped)<br \/>\nMedium Bell Pepper (Chopped)<br \/>\n14 oz Chicken Broth (home made\/can is up to you)<br \/>\n2 Medium Potatoes, diced<br \/>\n2 TBS Dijon Mustard<br \/>\n1 tsp Paprika<br \/>\n\u00bd tsp Red Pepper Flakes (or more)<br \/>\n1 Jalapeno Pepper<br \/>\n3 Cups Corn (frozen or can will work)<br \/>\n1 tsp Salt<br \/>\n4 Cups Milk<\/p>\n<p>Saute\/brown Onion and Bell Pepper in the butter.<br \/>\nAdd chicken broth and potatoes. Cook for 15 minutes (until potatoes are tender).<br \/>\nAdd remaining ingredients (<strong><em>except \u00bd cup of milk<\/em><\/strong>)<\/p>\n<p>Bring to a boil (especially if you are using corn, but not too long so the milk does not curdle).<\/p>\n<p>In a separate pot, you need to mix rue using \u00bd cup of milk and flour (about 2 TBS with regular flour\u2026.less of freshly ground flour)<\/p>\n<p>Once the corn is cooked and rue is ready, mix rue in with other ingredients.<\/p>\n<p>You can add ham, cheese\u2026..but, it is really yummy even without extras!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This comes from Rebecca of Moms Mustard Seeds.
