Scripture: 2 Timothy 4: 3<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Observation:<\/strong> There will be a time (and I believe it has come) that some will take from the Word want they want, discarding what they do not want, in order to hear what they desire.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Application:<\/strong> The only way you can discern truth is to be in the Word and to talk with our Father about the Word. Don\u2019t let deviations pull you from the truth. Hold biblical teachers to the truth test: Will what they say hold up exactly when compared to the Bible?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Prayer:<\/strong> Lord, thank you for sending us so many gifted teachers who help us to understand your word with more depth than we understand it alone. And thank you for discussion groups where we can hear and learn from others\u2019 experiences. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Please, Lord, guide all the discussions that are happening around the world right now about you. Let the truth be told and the myths and false statements be silenced. Guide those with questions to go to you and your word alone. And reveal yourself so the truth will be known. <\/span><\/p>\n

Silence those who twist your word for their own purposes. Help us to seek and follow truth, even when we, because of our sinful nature, do not like it. <\/span><\/p>\n

Keep me rooted in your truth. Thank you, Lord, for sending the Holy Spirit and for giving us the Bible so we can know, and be reminded of, your truth.<\/span><\/p>\n
