So I almost instantly preheated the oven, pulled out the recipe for peanut butter cookies, put on my apron and invited Natalie to help me bake some cookies.<\/p>\n<p>We had such a great time baking together and it reminded me of how much I miss it&#8211; and how I should put it back into my routine.<\/p>\n<p>Want to bake some cookies with your kids this weekend? Evidently, I&#8217;ve got a great recipe and I&#8217;m happy to share it with you. To be honest, though, I think the most important ingredient isn&#8217;t listed. It&#8217;s love. I&#8217;m thankful to get to share mine.<\/p>\n<h2>Peanut Butter &amp; Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies<\/h2>\n<h3>Ingredients:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>1\/2 cup sugar<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup peanut butter (I used Jif reduced fat)<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup shortening<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup butter, softened<\/li>\n<li>1 egg<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/4 cups flour<\/li>\n<li>3\/4 teaspoon baking soda<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon baking powder<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 teaspoon salt<\/li>\n<li>optional&#8212; mini chocolate chips<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Directions:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.<\/li>\n<li>Mix sugars, peanut butter, shortening, butter, egg.\u00a0 Add other ingredients and mix well.<\/li>\n<li>For those who are patient, refrigerate 3 hours. For those who are not, skip the refrigeration.<\/li>\n<li>Scoop dough onto the pan, or form balls and place on the cookie sheet. Criss-cross with a fork if desired.<\/li>\n<li>Add mini chocolate chips to some or all cookies before criss-crossing to make peanut butter chocolate chip cookies<\/li>\n<li>Bake at 375 for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and cool 2 minutes while on the cookie sheet. Remove to cool completely.<\/li>\n<li>Enjoy!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>Do you bake with your kids?
