{"id":13141,"date":"2014-01-13T09:09:34","date_gmt":"2014-01-13T15:09:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.momstoolbox.com\/blog\/?p=13141"},"modified":"2014-01-12T09:25:20","modified_gmt":"2014-01-12T15:25:20","slug":"getting-ready-to-read-the-bible-in-90-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.momstoolbox.com\/blog\/getting-ready-to-read-the-bible-in-90-days\/","title":{"rendered":"Getting ready to read the Bible in 90 days. :)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.momstoolbox.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/b90_Q1_2014_horizontal.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-13128 aligncenter\" alt=\"b90_Q1_2014_horizontal\" src=\"http:\/\/www.momstoolbox.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/b90_Q1_2014_horizontal.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"120\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m getting more and more excited to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.momstoolbox.com\/blog\/read-the-bible-in-90-days-with-me-starting-january-14\/\" target=\"_blank\">read the Bible in 90 days starting this Wednesday,<\/a> what about you?<\/p>\n<p>If you are reading with me, here are a few things you can do to get ready:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pick out your Bible to use for the read through.<\/strong> I&#8217;ll be using my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.christianbook.com\/bible-90-days\/9780310933519\/pd\/93351X?dv=c&amp;en=google-pla&amp;kw=bibles-0-20&amp;p=1167941&amp;gclid=CNje1Of3-LsCFa4-Mgod4EYAgQ\" target=\"_blank\">Bible in 90 Days Bible<\/a>. I strongly suggest that or another NIV thinline with nice large type and minimal footnotes to distract you. You&#8217;ll want to focus on the reading, not the cross-references and discussions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Download the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.momstoolbox.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/b90orgbookmark.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Bible in 90 Days reading schedule<\/a> and print it out.<\/strong> It&#8217;s a great feeling to see what you&#8217;ll be reading and to be able to check it off as you go. :)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Enlist two accountability partners to read with you.<\/strong> When there are three of you, it&#8217;s harder to quit. (A strand of three cords is not easily broken&#8230;)<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Grab a journal to record your questions and thoughts as you read.<\/strong> Write them down to research AFTER you read the whole Bible. Writing them down gets them off your mind, but please, do not make this read-through about journaling. Make it about reading and listening to what you hear as you read. The journal is just to keep you on track reading.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pray! Ask God to guide you as you read.<\/strong> Ask him to give you strength when distractions jump into the picture, because they will. But you can overcome them with Him. I know you can.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m really getting excited about our read-through. I&#8217;m glad that each of you who are going to read are reading alongside me.
