I&#8217;d much rather carry lighter suitcases and wash clothes than lug extra stuff to and from a destination. With three kids, I feel like I have enough to pack without bringing a fresh set of clothes for each day.<\/p>\n<p>I developed this checklist to follow on every trip that lasts about a week or more.I print a new one for each trip and check things off as I pack.<\/p>\n<p>Feel free to print this post for yourself, file it and use it as your own checklist. Just pencil in anything you&#8217;d like to add. And, while you are at it, please send a comment telling me what else you did pack so we can all learn from your ideas.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Now, on with our one-week packing list:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>3-4 coordinating\/ mix and match outfits for each of us<\/p>\n<p>Underwear (4 pairs for each child)<\/p>\n<p>2 pairs of pajamas for each<\/p>\n<p>Pull-ups as needed for bedtime<\/p>\n<p>Any special outfits as needed<\/p>\n<p>Exercise clothing<\/p>\n<p>Weather appropriate clothing\/ gear (i.e. jackets<\/p>\n<p>or swim suits and all that go with them)<\/p>\n<p>3-4 pairs socks<\/p>\n<p>shoes<\/p>\n<p>sandals (if appropriate)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/momstraveltales.com\/moms-traveling-medicine-cabinet\/\" target=\"_blank\">Emergency med stash<\/a><\/p>\n<ul><\/ul>\n<p>Regular meds<\/p>\n<p>Nail clippers<\/p>\n<p>Contact lens container, cleaner<\/p>\n<p>Glasses<\/p>\n<p>Sunglasses<\/p>\n<p>Makeup<\/p>\n<p>Makeup remover<\/p>\n<p>Cetaphil face soap (can also use for kids\/babies)<\/p>\n<p>Face lotion<\/p>\n<p>Sunscreen and\/ or bug repellent as needed<\/p>\n<p>Toothbrushes<\/p>\n<p>Toothpaste<\/p>\n<p>Kid toothpaste<\/p>\n<p>Floss<\/p>\n<p>Brushes and hair accessories<\/p>\n<p>Flashlight and booklight<\/p>\n<p>Nightlight<\/p>\n<p>Masking tape and Sharpie<\/p>\n<p>iPod (with lullabies and audio books loaded)<\/p>\n<p>iPod speakers<\/p>\n<p>a few toys to play with at our destination<\/p>\n<p>a few books, including bedtime stories<\/p>\n<p>Nighttime lovies<\/p>\n<p>Bible<\/p>\n<p>Journal<\/p>\n<p>Books I hope to read (I can dream&#8230; Sometimes it happens.)<\/p>\n<p>Laptop and charger (I typically carry this, though.)<\/p>\n<p>All appropriate chargers<\/p>\n<p>Camera (I typically carry this, though.)<\/p>\n<p>Purse (I pack this in my suitcase and carry a backpack in transit to keep my hands free)<\/p>\n<p>Carry on stuff (If interested in this, please check <a href=\"http:\/\/momstraveltales.com\/what-to-carry-on-a-flight\/\" target=\"_blank\">my post on this<\/a> for the details.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>A few things I do to prepare\/ pack:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pack bags to check (and check weight)<\/li>\n<li>Pack each <a href=\"http:\/\/momstraveltales.com\/what-to-carry-on-a-flight\/\">child\u2019s carry-on bag<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Pack my carry-on bag<\/li>\n<li>Charge all electronics<\/li>\n<li>Clear camera memory card and backup as<\/li>\n<li>needed<\/li>\n<li>Sync iPod<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate house\/ animal care<\/li>\n<li>Empty trash<\/li>\n<li>Give away, trash or refrigerate any produce on the counters<\/li>\n<li>Unload dishwasher and rinse or wash anything remaining<\/li>\n<li>Print boarding passes and travel notes<\/li>\n<li>Figure out my car seat\/ booster plan<\/li>\n<li>Pray for safe and rewarding travels<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m a firm believer in doing laundry (or having it done) on vacation.
