We\u2019ll be exploring Lodi and her wines, visiting several wineries and restaurants and also participating with Gregory dal Piaz in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.snooth.com\/virtual-tasting\/video\/lodi-presents\/\" target=\"_blank\">Snooth Virtual Tasting of four Lodi wines<\/a> on Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n<h3>A few Lodi Wine Country Fun Facts:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Lodi wine country, which is\u00a0<strong>100 miles east of San Francisco<\/strong> near the San Joaquin\/Sacramento River Delta, south of Sacramento and west of the Sierra Nevada mountain range, has been home to vineyards for more than 150 years and actually <strong>thrived during Prohibition<\/strong>, supplying grapes to winemakers across the country.<\/li>\n<li>In\u00a02005, the region established Lodi Rules, <strong>California\u2019s first third-party-certified sustainable wine growing program<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Zinfandel, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot<\/strong> are the most common grape varieties grown there, and lately the vineyards have been experimenting successfully with\u00a0Albari\u00f1o, Tempranillo, Verdelho, Sangiovese, Viognier, Carignane, and Touriga Nacional.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>I\u2019m really looking forward to learning more about Lodi alongside some of my favorite bloggers<\/strong>, Ben of <a href=\"http:\/\/wine-by-benito.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Benito\u2019s Wine Reviews <\/a>, Bill of <a href=\"http:\/\/cuveecorner.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cuvee Corner<\/a>, Dezel of <a href=\"http:\/\/vinespot.blogspot.com\/ \" target=\"_blank\">My Vine Spot<\/a>, and Nannette of <a href=\"http:\/\/wineharlots.com\/wordpress\/\" target=\"_blank\">Wine Harlots<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Some of the Lodi wineries we\u2019ll be visiting include:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Bechtold Vineyard<\/li>\n<li>Harney Lane Winery<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Mettler Family Vineyards<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Mohr-Fry Ranches<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Wegat Vineyard<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Acquiesce Winery &amp; Vineyards<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0LangeTwins Winery<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Kirschenman Vineyard<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Jeremy Wine Co<\/li>\n<li>Klinker Brick Winery<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Wanna join in my adventures virtually?<\/h3>\n<p>Follow me on <a href=\"http:\/\/instagram.com\/amy_c_gross\" target=\"_blank\">Instagram<\/a> where I\u2019ll be sharing pictures and more fun facts as the adventures unwind.
