<\/p>\nMy daughter loves quilts.<\/p>\n
In Kindergarten, her class\u00a0toured a quilt show at her school (which is at a church) and she has been hooked ever since. Every year we go to that same\u00a0quilt show and admire the stories and craftsmanship in each of the quilts on display.<\/p>\n
I’m sure it doesn’t hurt that there is quilting in her family heritage.<\/p>\n
My mother-in-law made several quilts for each of our children through the years and I have memories of quilts made by women of previous generations in my own family. I know there is at least one floating about in our family which has scraps of my mom’s childhood clothing. I, however, do not know how to sew.\u00a0But I’ve thought about it.<\/p>\n
After seeing so many beautiful quilts through the years at the show, a few months ago I decided to enter a few of our own family’s quilts in the quilt show. Here are a few photos of the quilts we entered:<\/p>\n

Sharing them at the show, and seeing them with the others was pretty exciting. We, of course also enjoyed looking at so many other quilts, admiring\u00a0their designs, colors and attention to detail. We also enjoyed reading many of the stories accompanying the quilts.<\/p>\n
This one I thought was a brilliant quilt for showcasing CubScout patches and achievements:<\/p>\n

Each year when I leave the quilt show, I think about learning how to sew and quilt myself. This year, again, the idea is floating around in my brain. I’m so intrigued by hand-sewing, but I wonder if I would have the patience.<\/p>\n
