Put away forever the idols your ancestors worshipped when they lived beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord alone.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Observation:<\/strong> Honor and serve the Lord completely. Do not serve other idols at all, just the one true God.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application:<\/strong> I must be sure that my actions serve only the Lord, and no others. It is easy to say that my actions never serve idols, but I think that, if not monitored, so many little things can become big things and act as idols.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday I could not stop thinking about my SOAP post and observations. I prayed about it and pondered it all day long.<\/p>\n<p>And now today&#8217;s verse strikes a similar chord. I think what God is telling me is that I need to keep my actions and intentions in check. My blogging is mostly a positive force in my life. But to keep it that way I need to check in with the Holy Spirit before I post and ask: Is this post honoring to the Lord? Why am I posting it&#8211; To boost myself up? Or to glorify God? Or to share information that I really think others might benefit from reading?<\/p>\n<p>If I act to serve myself, I might as well be serving an idol. I must act to serve the Lord alone and serve Him completely.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prayer:<\/strong> Thank you, Lord, for convicting me with these verses lately. I want to glorify you and point to you. Please guide me as I go forward to keep my motives pure&#8230; in blogging as well as all else.
