Happy Monday!<\/p>\n

We are heading into our second week of reading together and I am so glad you are with me. Today we are on Proverbs 7. Proverbs 7 uses some specific words, but I think it is about more than just one meaning of adultery. Take a read then take a look. What do you think?<\/p>\n

Today’s Reading: Proverbs 7<\/h1>\n

Using the SOAP devotional method<\/a>, here’s what I heard this time…<\/p>\n

Scripture: Proverbs 7:3 & 12<\/h2>\n

Proverbs 7:3:<\/strong><\/p>\n

bind them on your fingers;<\/p>\n

write them on the tablet of your heart.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Proverbs 7: 12:<\/strong><\/p>\n

now in the street, now in the market,<\/p>\n

and at every corner she lies in wait<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Observation:<\/h2>\n

Keep my teachings in your heart and on your mind. Distractions and temptations are everywhere.<\/p>\n

Application:<\/h2>\n

I think God is reminding me here that temptations and distractions… and not just those of sexual misconduct are everywhere. Because of that, I need to be on guard, seeking wisdom and holding His Word in my heart.<\/p>\n

Keeping up with a daily devotional plan is a great way to prepare and keep His Word where it needs to be. I must keep this up.<\/p>\n

Prayer:<\/h2>\n

Lord, thank you for offering this simple reading of the Proverbs to me. Thank you for offering your Word to me so that I can fill up on wisdom and your teachings. Guide me in staying in your Word and guide me in calling your Word to mind when I am tempted to do the things which are not the best for me. Please put a shield of protection around my marriage and keep me focused on you in all things. I love you, God. I want to follow you alone. Thank you for your reassurance and guidance.<\/p>\n
