\nYesterday I wrote a few notes for my kids heading off to summer camp. This verse from Psalms was something I felt compelled to share with them:<\/p>\n

I praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works, my soul knows it well. <\/p>\n

-Psalm 139:14<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

As I wrote it out, I thought about how each one of us IS truly wonderfully made. There is not just good stuff, but SUPER  AMAZING stuff in each of us. <\/p>\n

This wasn’t a note that only my kids needed to read, it was one that I needed to read and remember for myself. <\/p>\n

Too often I see my failures and the things I could have\/ should have done differently or done better and get caught up in those. (Anyone else with me?)<\/p>\n

When this happens, I forget who I am in Him, that He made me, and I get mad at myself for not doing things better. <\/p>\n

It’s okay. <\/p>\n

Deep down, even in my lack of perfection, I am fearfully and wonderfully made. <\/p>\n

I can do this thing called life. And I can do it well. We all can. <\/p>\n

Life has more twists and turns than I ever expected and sometimes those twists and turns are really hard. Things aren’t as black and white as I expected. Decisions can be tough. Trade-offs are tough. I want to do it ALL well ALL of the time. <\/p>\n

But I cannot. <\/p>\n

Just like you, and my kids, I AM fearfully and wonderfully made, and yet I still make mistakes. Being fearfully and wonderfully made doesn’t mean we are expected to be perfect. I think perhaps it means we can be resilient. We can be kind. We can be loving. We’ve got the good stuff in us. <\/p>\n

Realizing that awesomeness is not easy. Acting on it isn’t always easy, either. <\/p>\n

But it is there, within us, to grasp, nurture and grow or to let it go. <\/p>\n

 I may be tired.  I may be weary. But I am fearfully and wonderfully made. The ultimate creator made me. It’s up to me to reach in there and follow His lead in my mistakes and in my successes. <\/p>\n

Let’s remind each other how well we are truly made. The good stuff is there, in ALL of us. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
