Happy Saturday, friends!<\/p>\n

It’s cold down in Texas and it feels kinds cozy inside the house. It’s finally time for thick cozy socks, gloves, scarves and hot cocoa with my kids. Hip, hip hooray!<\/p>\n

As I’m writing this, I’m smiling a bit as I am realizing something– did you catch the word ‘finally’ up there? Guess it was all worth WAITING for. Hmmmm. On to that SOAP,<\/a> I guess!<\/p>\n

Scripture:<\/h2>\n

Be strong,<\/p>\n

and let your heart take courage;<\/p>\n

Wait for the Lord.<\/p>\n

–Psalm 27:14<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Observation:<\/h2>\n

Don’t rush things.<\/p>\n

Hold tight, use restraint and have faith in Him for His perfect timing.<\/p>\n

Application:<\/h2>\n

It is HARD to wait on the Lord.<\/p>\n

Well, at least it sure can be for me.<\/p>\n

When I have an idea, I want to run with it 90 miles an hour and MAKE IT HAPPEN!<\/p>\n

Society’s culture also says we should hustle and make things happen.<\/p>\n

Well, sure, you gotta do the work. You gotta do the homework, but you also gotta do the listening, and often that listening requires WAITING.<\/p>\n

I’m not that great at waiting. But what I see, as I look back on things, is how God’s perfect timing has shown itself so many times in my life.<\/p>\n

He has\u00a0provided for me in so many ways and in so many different facets of my life. This providing didn’t always happen on MY timetable, but I sure bet it always happened on His.<\/p>\n

Waiting takes courage<\/p>\n

Waiting takes faith.<\/p>\n

Waiting on Him, and acting as He instructs (yes, that does mean doing your work, too)\u00a0is definitely the way to go.<\/p>\n

I’m going to ask Him to guide me as I wait. I’m going to ask for strength and courage in the waiting, as I could be a better wait-er.<\/p>\n

Prayer:<\/h2>\n

Father God, thank you so much for this reassurance in the importance of waiting.<\/p>\n

It’s a bit ironic that I just was telling my husband of a timetable I’m hoping to execute in the next few weeks. And this timetable, as you know, can only be partly controlled by my actions.<\/p>\n

Oh boy.<\/p>\n

God, you’ve got me. You’re in charge here.<\/p>\n

Guide me, please, to do the work that I can do, and to be pleased by the work I can do and can control, and then be strong, courageous and confident in the waiting, knowing YOU have the best in mind for me.<\/p>\n

I love you God.<\/p>\n

Thanks for this smile, this hug, this reminder.<\/p>\n
