The weather forecast for this weekend doesn’t look so glorious for the MS 150 ride from Houston to Austin. It actually looks quite thunderstorm-y. Yuck<\/p>\n
Lightening I will not do, but rain I will.<\/p>\n
I’ve got a few ideas for cycling in the rain like brake early and that sort of thing.<\/p>\n
I also plan to put my camera and phone in plastic zipper bags.<\/p>\n
In Vermont I learned to carry a showercap to put on my helmet in case of rain. (And also use that same shower cap to cover my seat when I’m not on it.)<\/p>\n
I’ll also bring a raincoat to wear and a small bungee to use in the event it won’t fit in my jersey pocket when it is time to stow (Because the sun will come out.)<\/p>\n
I plan to pack all the things in my overnight bag inside of a large garbage bag incase my bag is the one that gets left out in the rain.<\/p>\n
I’ll also pack newspaper to stuff inside of my shoes and absorb the water overnight.<\/p>\n
Any other tips for cycling or camping in the rain?<\/p>\n
