\nHappy Monday!<\/p>\n

I missed sharing SOAP with you the past few days while I was on a Disney cruise ship with super limited connectivity. As a mom blogger guest, I was there to cover my experiences for you and preview a few things Disney has planned for the year. Stay tuned, I’ll fill you in on all that soon.<\/p>\n

But, first, we are back to SOAP. (Yipeeeeee!!)<\/p>\n

Today’s reading is Acts 20.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Here’s what grabbed me.<\/p>\n

Scripture:<\/h2>\n

Now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which can build you up…<\/p>\n

Acts 20: 32<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Observation:<\/h2>\n

God’s acceptance and love can encourage you.<\/p>\n

There was a second part to this verse, but this is what really stood out to me.<\/p>\n

Application:<\/h2>\n

Way too often I can let the frustrations in life pull me down. I judge myself harshly and see where I feel I don’t measure up. And then my day is clouded.<\/p>\n

This verse was a great reminder to me that I need to go to His word for encouragement. He will build me up through his loving acceptance and grace.<\/p>\n

He isn’t expecting perfection. He doesn’t require perfection.<\/p>\n

He offers grace and love… acceptance.<\/p>\n

Prayer:<\/h2>\n

Father God,<\/p>\n

You know I can beat myself up pretty hard. I get so frustrated when I don’t measure up to my own standards. Then,  I let that frustration flow over onto my attitude in almost everything. It’s hard for me to shake it.<\/p>\n

That is NOT how you intend for me to live. You want me to live a life of grace and love… for myself, too.<\/p>\n

Wow, just writing this today makes me think about how my judgement of myself really does shape my attitude in bad ways sometimes and impacts my family. I get cranky because I feel like I’m not maximizing my potential and then I get into a funk, clouding my family’s days, too. That’s got to stop!<\/p>\n

Thanks for showing me this.<\/p>\n

Thanks for your forgiveness of that, and for showing me today to live in grace for ME, just as you do.<\/p>\n

Help me, Father, to go to You, to go to your word and see your truth.. and follow it. Help me to offer grace to myself, too.<\/p>\n
