Hello there! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am so so SO excited to start reading the entire New Testament with you in just 40 days… starting TODAY!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I could sure use some hope and love right now. Jesus was (and is) quite a revolutionary… He brought new ways of thinking about things and He stood (and stands!) for love every step of the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am looking forward to reading about His time walking on this earth, His conversations and miracles, and the times immediately following, as well as prophesies for the end times. And reading it all in just 40 days means we can read it at a solid pace to keep moving and compare things we read with other things we’ve just read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which translation?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

You might be wondering which translation you should be reading. Well, that is 100% up to you. I’m reading the NIV because it seems to be the most straightforward to me. I’d choose one with minimal footnotes, too. Wondering why? Read on…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reading or Studying?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our goal here is to READ not to study. <\/strong>You can always go back and study later. The goal of reading the New Testament in 40 Days is to READ… and to that, momentum is our friend. Studying curbs that momentum. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I want you to keep rolling, keep reading, keep listening and not worry about catching every little thing. He will tell you what you need to know when you need to know it. Really. Footnotes can often distract. So, if you can, pick a Bible that is a NOT a study Bible and just READ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Discussion?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

At this point, I do not have any Twitter discussions planned as when I hosted the Bible in 90 Days. The comments sections are certainly open for your thoughts and conversation. Please keep things polite when you do comment so I don’t have to pull out my editor’s pen. (I doubt we’ll need that. But I had to mention it.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In hosting read throughs in the past, I have found that a bit of accountability helps everyone.
