<\/figure>\n\n\n\nScripture<\/h2>\n\n\n\nGod saw their actions- that they had turned from their evil ways- so God relented from the disaster he had threatened them with and did not do it. -Jonah 3:10<\/pre>\n\n\n\nObservation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
The people sinned and then changed their ways and God changed his mind as to what he intended to do. He rejoiced rather than punished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Application<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
He loves us. He wants us to do what is right. He doesn’t want harm to fall on any of us and so, when we repent, he wants us to know of his delight and may change his intended action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That is super nice in my book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Is it up to me to judge him for this, even in extreme actions? I think not. And, even if I did, He’s the one in charge, not me, so my thoughts really aren’t relevant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I want to rejoice with him as more and more turn to him and follow him, not judge why he lets people have his grace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prayer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Father God, thank you for your forgiveness and for welcoming me into your grace (and keeping me there) even when I do sin. Thank you for accepting my repentance and accepting me as I struggle with judgement. You forgive. You are in charge. And you are gracious. Thank you so much for that! Help me, please, as I strive to be more like you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
