{"id":2014,"date":"2009-06-22T07:58:07","date_gmt":"2009-06-22T12:58:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.momstoolbox.com\/blog\/?p=2014"},"modified":"2009-06-22T07:58:07","modified_gmt":"2009-06-22T12:58:07","slug":"soap-revising-the-to-do-list","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.momstoolbox.com\/blog\/soap-revising-the-to-do-list\/","title":{"rendered":"SOAP: Revising the to do list"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Scripture: 1Timothy 4:7-8<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>7<\/strong>\u2026Spend your time and energy in training yourself for spiritual fitness. <strong>8<\/strong>Physical exercise is important, but spiritual exercise is much more important, for it promises a reward in both this life and the next.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Observation:<\/strong> Spend your time and efforts on the thing that really matters and will last: your spiritual health.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application:<\/strong> There are a lot of things vying for my attention, time and efforts. But which of those are eternally significant? Perhaps I need to ask that question a bit more when evaluating my to-do list.<\/p>\n<p>That is so easy to write and yet so hard to employ.<\/p>\n<p>But I\u2019ve got to do it. I feel like I\u2019m letting too much get away undone or not done well.<\/p>\n<p>And some of it should remain undone or not done well.<\/p>\n<p>The eternal things are those that need to be done right. And that is all.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prayer:<\/strong> Lord, please, please, please guide me in discerning what is eternal and what is not.<\/p>\n<p>Show me what to carve away. Please make it obvious because I so easily get caught up in worldly priorities.<\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t want that to be the case.<\/p>\n<p>Show me your way and remind me. Keep holding my hand, and keep whispering or shouting in my ear.<\/p>\n<p>I want to serve you and not the world. It is so hard, Lord to keep it all straight.\u00a0 But, with you I can do it.<\/p>\n<p>So please guide me.<\/p>\n<p>I need you.
