I apologize for not keeping up with my SOAP posts.<\/p>\n
Our family has been on vacation abroad and we\u2019ve just returned home last night.\u00a0 As I\u2019m sure you can imagine, posting while there had its own set of challenges and I\u2019m not sure how I feel about posting SOAP posts in advance, so I didn\u2019t schedule any.<\/p>\n
Anyway\u2026 here we are, back on track with The Power of a Praying Wife.\u00a0 Today my verse comes from chapter 9.<\/p>\n
Scripture:<\/strong> 1 Corinthians 7:7<\/p>\n \u2026Each one has his own gift from God, one in this manner and another in that.<\/p>\n Observation:<\/strong> God has given us all unique gifts.<\/p>\n Application:<\/strong> Our gifts and abilities from God are unique, and we have all <\/strong>been given them.<\/p>\n It is important to remember all of that\u2014I cannot expect to have the same gifts and abilities as another and I cannot expect others to have the same as I.<\/p>\n Sometimes (more often than I care to admit) I get frustrated when people don\u2019t do things as I do them. I often want everyone to think and carry out things as I do.<\/p>\n Well, that is not how God designed us.<\/p>\n Each of us has unique capabilities and insights and together we can serve Him and each other.<\/p>\n Yes, in some instances, one person\u2019s approach will be better than in others\u2019 but one cannot be best in all.<\/p>\n I found a great application here for myself, but what about my husband?<\/em><\/p>\n In this chapter we are to be praying for our husband\u2019s purpose.<\/p>\n This verse points out that we all must have one defined by God\u2014Why else would he give us unique gifts? Not only does the Lord give us a unique purpose, but he also gives us the tools to put it into place.<\/p>\n Calling on the Lord will give us insight into both.<\/p>\n Prayer:\u00a0 Heavenly Father, thank you for this insight for me, my husband and also my children.<\/p>\n Please guide my husband in seeking you when he questions his purpose. Guide him in hearing your direction over that of the world. Thank you for giving him so many gifts and abilities which he can use to serve others and you.<\/p>\n And, Lord, when I become frustrated with others, guide me in calling back your Word and help me to remember that you gave each of us gifts\u2014and you didn\u2019t design us to do things the same but all work together as parts of the body of Christ.<\/p>\n Help me in recognizing my gifts and using them\u2014and please guide me in recognizing my children\u2019s gifts and helping them to recognize and grow them, as well.<\/p>\n Thank you, Lord, for each of our gifts.
