Scripture: Luke 12: 34<\/strong><\/p>\n

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Observation:<\/strong> Whatever it is that you regard as having value, your heart and life will be built around.<\/p>\n

Application:<\/strong> Take a look at where your time, effort and energy are focused. What is your life built around?<\/p>\n

Do you spend the most on what you want<\/em> to be the most valuable area of your life? Or are you getting swayed by \u201chave to\u2019s\u201d that are actually pretty meaningless?<\/p>\n

Lately I have been feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the things that \u2018need\u2019 my attention.<\/p>\n

Last week I spent a few hours (in a row) praying, journaling and trying my best to listen to what God might have to say about my priorities and schedule.<\/p>\n

No, that doesn\u2019t mean I have it all figured out and everything is running beautifully now, but I know I\u2019m working toward getting on the path that He might have me take. (And I\u2019m working harder on being aware and staying on that path.) I\u2019m trying harder to recognize the true treasure and be sure my heart is there and not led astray.<\/p>\n

I want my efforts and energy to be placed on what is eternal and not what is fleeting. I will admit, though, that it is easy to get sidetracked.<\/p>\n

Prayer:<\/strong> Lord, please continue to guide me in growing closer to you and focusing my life on the treasures you intend for me.<\/p>\n

Help me to recognize Satan\u2019s distractions and prioritize my time and efforts in the way that you would have them. Help me to keep my heart focused on true treasure, and not on what is fleeting.<\/p>\n
