Before even answering, he prayed to God. My guess is that it was a quick, silent prayer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application:<\/strong> Earlier in Nehemiah, he prayed to God a lengthy, detailed and worshipful prayer. And when he was in the moment, about to ask the king for something, he paused, prayed, and then continued.<\/p>\n<p>I am taking from this that God wants us to call on Him in many ways at many times. I think He wants us to pray long, detailed prayers at times and he also wants us to call out in the moment of our need with quick prayers, too. I think he just wants us to pause and then recognize and call on the greatest power there is: His!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prayer:<\/strong> Lord, thank you for wanting to hear from me.
