So don’t you think you should read all of it, attentively?

When I decided that I was really ready to read the Bible for good, the Bible in 90 Days program worked for me… Perhaps that’s why, after participating in the program, I facilitated several other groups, trained facilitators and now have decided to create an online community of readers to read it with me yet again.

So, how do you do it?

First, pray about it and ask God to set your heart and mind in the right place to proceed. Then you…

Get a Bible in 90 Days Bible

It really helps if you start with the official Bible in 90 Days Bible. I promise my goal (and even the ministry’s goal) is not to get you to buy another Bible. Yes, you can read your own Bible, but you chance of success is much greater of you use this specific Bible. And don’t you want to finish this time?

Here are a few reasons why this particular Bible will help you:

It is an NIV translation, which is a direct translation yet still easy to read.

It has nice large type to keep your eyes from getting tired.

There are minimal footnotes and cross-references to keep you from getting distracted from the passage/ story at hand.

It is only an inch thick, which isn’t too overwhelming.

It is pretty small in size, so you can take it with you anywhere (and you’ll need to).

12 pages a day isn’t too intimidating, and that’s what you’ll read with this Bible.

Each day’s reading is clearly indicated to keep you on track.

Download the reading schedule

Like I said, yes, you can read a different Bible. And if you choose to do that, I still would love to help you accomplish that goal. Feel free to download and print this handy bookmark reading schedule and check off the days as you read. The bookmark lists page numbers for the plan Bible and scripture start and stop points you can use with any Bible.

Join a group to encourage each other and also hold each other accountable.

My hope is that MomsToolbox.com can serve as an online community where we can check in with each other, encourage each other and most importantly keep each other reading the Bible.

Throughout the program, I will post my observations of the readings and ask you if you have read. I’d love for you to read and comment with a yes (or no) if you’ve read… and share anything you would like to share as well.

The important thing to read, though is the Bible, not my blog. So please try to get your reading finished before you hop online… unless you need encouragement and, in that case, I hope to help there, too!

It also helps if you can form a group of your own live, in-person friends to keep each other encouraged. Pray about it and ask a few friends to join you in the challenge if you think that might help.

Start thinking of how you are going to build the reading time into your schedule.

It takes about 45 minutes to an hour and 15 minutes each day to read, depending on your speed. Start thinking of ways you can clear that time so you won’t be surprised. It does get challenging to keep that commitment, but planning on how to make that time adjustment will help you to make it happen. I’ll be writing more about that in the coming days.

I’m not going to lie to you. As with anything else requiring commitment and dedication, there are times that this challenge will seem tedious. There will be times (nearer the beginning) that you just want to put it off for another time. There will be times (nearer the middle) that you may think you’ve read enough and want to get back to other tasks. There will be times (nearer the end) that you just want to be done with it, already.

But I promise you that if you stick to it and finish on schedule, your life will not be the same. By reading so quickly you will achieve your goal… and see how beautifully every little thing fits together (before too much time passes and you begin to forget things.)

Yes, it is a quite a commitment. But I would bet that if you ask God to guide you through the process, He will. He gave you all of your time, it’s up to you to decide how to spend it.

Reading the Bible in 90 days is an exciting adventure with a lot of riveting reading… It is the world’s best seller, after all!
