{"id":2678,"date":"2010-01-13T13:49:50","date_gmt":"2010-01-13T18:49:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.momstoolbox.com\/blog\/?p=2678"},"modified":"2010-01-13T13:49:50","modified_gmt":"2010-01-13T18:49:50","slug":"back-in-the-saddle-again-with-a-major-score","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.momstoolbox.com\/blog\/back-in-the-saddle-again-with-a-major-score\/","title":{"rendered":"Back in the saddle again&#8230; with a major score!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/s539.photobucket.com\/albums\/ff360\/Momstoolbox\/?action=view&amp;current=photo-64.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"border: 0pt none;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.momstoolbox.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/photo-64.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Photobucket\" width=\"240\" height=\"320\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Last October you might have read about my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.momstoolbox.com\/blog\/2009\/10\/12\/ms-alamo-ride-to-the-river\/\" target=\"_blank\">second rained-out MS 150 experience<\/a> of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Well, um, I am embarrassed to admit that since then my bike has been quite cozy in the garage.<\/p>\n<p>But this morning, at the invitation of a friend and training buddy, I got back in the saddle to start preparing for the Houston to Austin MS 150 in April. It&#8217;s a two-day, 180 mile bike ride to raise funds for and awareness of Multiple Sclerosis.<\/p>\n<p>We had a great ride&#8230; although a very chilly one. I live in the South, so cycling in 37 degree weather is a bit chilly for me. Honestly, I was hoping my friend would back out so I wouldn&#8217;t have to do it.<\/p>\n<p>But cycle we did and, as is always the case, I am so glad we did.<\/p>\n<p>We did a quick 20 mile ride to get back on track and surprisingly, my body felt great.<\/p>\n<p>And near the end I saw what you saw above the post. Yes, an adorable mirror just waiting to be hauled off by someone and loved some more.<\/p>\n<p>My cycling partner and I circled back, asked the man who standing near the house if I could have the mirror and jumped for joy when he said &#8220;Yes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>No, I didn&#8217;t attempt to cycle with it. I set it aside and drove back when we were finished riding.<\/p>\n<p>I can&#8217;t wait to show it to my daughter&#8230; She is going to LOVE it. And I loved the curb-side discount, as my dad calls it. Ya can&#8217;t get any better than free!<\/p>\n<p>So.. am I glad I got back in the saddle today?
