Day 55 of the Bible in 90 Days<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Scripture:<\/strong> Jeremiah 17: 7-8<\/p>\n

7<\/strong>“But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,<\/p>\n

whose confidence is in him.<\/p>\n

8<\/strong>He will be like a tree planted by the water<\/p>\n

that sends out its roots by the stream.<\/p>\n

It does not fear when heat comes;<\/p>\n

its leaves are always green.<\/p>\n

It has no worries in a year of drought<\/p>\n

and never fails to bear fruit.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Observation:<\/strong> True trust in the Lord will bring true peace and prosperity<\/p>\n

Application:<\/strong> This image is so peaceful and soothing. And it describes a life I would like to have.<\/p>\n

Instead I feel as though I am so often scurrying from project to project, never fully giving anything my all and always balancing too much.<\/p>\n

Why is that?<\/p>\n

Why do I pile on so much? Who am I trying to please?<\/p>\n

Prayer:<\/strong> Lord, guide me in trusting in you completely. I want to do so much and have my hands in so many pots. Guide me. Show me what you<\/em> want me to do. Show me how<\/em> to do what you want me to do. And forgive me for trying to do it mostly on my own. I need to move you from the role of my assistant and helper and into the role of boss.<\/p>\n

I want to be like that tree planted along the stream, enjoying the beauty and nourishment and providing beauty, protection and nourishment where you intend for me to do so.<\/p>\n

Please guide me in seeking you better and listening harder and trusting completely.<\/p>\n
