They might be heading to bed tonight wondering if tomorrow will be the day they stop moving… unless that day has already come for them. I cannot imagine what that would be like.

It is my honor to ride for those who cannot and raise money to help end this terrible, devastating disease.

Yep, it’s almost time again for the BP MS150, the two-day 180-mile ride from Houston to Austin to raise funds for and awareness of Multiple Sclerosis. This will be my third BP MS150, (my fourth MS ride) and I cannot believe that in just three short weeks I will have already completed day one (provided it is not rained out as last year) and will be tucking myself in to a nice, cozy sleeping bag in the team tent after cycling 95 miles, preparing for the next day’s hilly ride to Austin (and hoping not to get food poisoning as I did last year).

Here’s my overview of my first BP MS 150

And a post about last year’s icky BP MS 150 :(

And a post about last Fall’s MS ride.

Ummm, in case you didn’t notice, last year’s adventure held quite a few calamities for me. And then I tried again for another two-day MS ride in October, only to have one day of THAT one rained out, as well.

Last year all three MS rides in Texas had one day rained out. The events still raised millions of dollars for MS, but I would bet between that, and our economy of late, the organization has some fundraising to catch up on. And I’m here to help!

I’d love for you to consider supporting my ride financially. Yes, I feel strange asking that on my blog… but I’m asking you to consider it. And you can always so “no.”

I won’t love you any more or less if you do contribute financially. But I’d hate to miss the opportunity to raise more money to fight MS just because I’m afraid to ask.

I can assure you that any amount you contribute will be put to good use. I have been amazed at the MS Society’s cost-conscience efficiency. These guys know how to mobilize volunteers, run a tight event and still generate an incredible buzz. MS riders don’t just hop on a bike and fulfill personal goals… Sure, that is a part of it, but the riders also learn about MS nearly every pedal of the way. And we become motivated to keep moving to make a difference for those who cannot.

I would also really appreciate your prayer support, too, because I know that is what is going to get me through the ride. I could not do this without God pushing me along, catching me before I fall and whispering His encouraging words in my ear. I know that prayers from friends have made that happen in the past and I know I need them again… Like a LOT! (My training has been a little lacking lately so I’m really in need this year. :) And knowing you are praying for me will strengthen me even more.

I’ve got quite a ride ahead of me in three weeks… and the ride tomorrow is a big one, too.

You’ll be hearing more about both soon, I promise. If you’d like, Fan Me on Facebook... I’ll be posting photos and updates from the ride there.

I am so excited to take part. Like I said, I get to cycle through the rolling hills, enjoying the beautiful day, and marvel that God allows me to do it.

Please pray for me, send me some encouraging scripture if any comes to mind while you think of me and consider contributing financially. I would certainly appreciate it… and I know those for whom I ride would, too.

To contribute, please visit my MS fundraising page.

You can also find more information about Multiple Sclerosis there, too.

And, like I said… I promise to not love you any more or less based on your decision to contribute or not. And I mean it! Your prayers are what I really need!

Thanks so much for your consideration,

Tomorrow morning I’ll be clipping in for 68 miles of beautiful weather, rolling hills and glorious time just cycling away while pondering, praying and thanking God that I have the ability to ride as I do.
