Although yesterday was my first emotional first day, I love the beginning of school. It&#8217;s such a great time for a fresh start. And I wanted to to start my guys off right.<\/p>\n<p>So, when they came home and I asked them to put their backpacks and shoes away, this is what I got:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 415px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/s539.photobucket.com\/albums\/ff360\/Momstoolbox\/?action=view&amp;current=DSCF1034-1.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" \" style=\"border: 0px;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.momstoolbox.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/DSCF1034-1.jpg\" alt=\"Photobucket\" width=\"415\" height=\"553\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Messy Mudroom<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\">This was not good for the First Day of School Fresh Start I was hoping for.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\">But\u00a0if I hadn&#8217;t given them a clear spot for their backpacks, how could I expect them to put them in the right spot each day?<\/div>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\">And when I cruised over to the Organizing Junkie&#8217;s blog and saw how nice her <a href=\"http:\/\/orgjunkie.com\/2008\/08\/backpack-station-revisited.html\">backpack station<\/a> was, I knew I had to take a picture and make a change right away.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\">So, while the guys were in school this morning, I went through the clutter and found quite a few things to give to friends, lots of things to donate, many items that were in the wrong place to begin with and, yes, even plenty of items for the trash.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\">Here&#8217;s what the boys will find when they return home this afternoon:<\/div>\n<figure style=\"width: 415px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/s539.photobucket.com\/albums\/ff360\/Momstoolbox\/?action=view&amp;current=DSCF1037-1.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" \" style=\"border: 0px;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.momstoolbox.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/DSCF1037-1.jpg\" alt=\"Photobucket\" width=\"415\" height=\"553\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Much better mudroom<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\">The guys are too small to hang their packs, but at least they will have a clear spot for setting them.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\">I&#8217;m pretty proud of my hat hanger, by the way. I just took a long piece of ribbon, looped it on top and attached the hats with clothespins.
