Today’s Reading: Proverbs 7:1- Proverbs 20:21<\/strong><\/p>\n

Scripture: Proverbs 19:21<\/strong><\/p>\n

Many are the plans in a man’s heart,<\/p>\n

but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Observation:<\/strong><\/p>\n

God’s plan may not contain all the things your heart does.<\/p>\n

Application: <\/strong><\/p>\n

What do I want to do that God doesn’t intend for me to do?<\/p>\n

There are so many things that I think I want to do.<\/p>\n

I often think about and make plans on how to keep my house better, how to parent better, just fun things to do, fantastic meals I would like to master (or attempt), topics I would like to blog about, friends I would like to hang out with more, studies I would like to do…<\/p>\n

But it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.<\/p>\n

What does HE intend for me to do? What would honor HIM? I know this will bring the truest joy. But often getting to that point is a challenge because so many other things seem appealing.<\/p>\n

Prayer:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lord, show me your purposes for me. Show me your path for me. Guide me in taking that <\/em>one and passing over all the others. I know following your path is the best one and all the others are distractions, although it is hard to see that when I am being distracted.<\/p>\n

Please, Lord, give me discernment in what to do and what to let go. I need your guidance. I need to know what to carve out and what to focus on more fully. And I know your direction will show me just that.<\/p>\n

Thank you, Lord for caring enough to remind me of this today in my reading.<\/p>\n

Now, please, let me hear your direction. And empower me to follow it.<\/p>\n

The verse above this one (Proverbs 19:20) <\/strong>calls out to me here:<\/p>\n

Listen to advice and accept instruction, and in the end you will be wise.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I want to hear your advice and follow your instruction. And then be wise.<\/p>\n
