Scripture: Psalm 84:2<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

My soul yearns, even faints,<\/span><\/p>\n

for the courts of the Lord;<\/span><\/p>\n

my heart and my flesh cry out<\/span><\/p>\n

for the living God.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

<\/span>Observation:<\/strong> Wow. This psalmist really craves the Lord with all of his being. All of him cries out<\/em>\u2026 that\u2019s some serious yearning.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Application:<\/strong> <\/span>When I read something likes this I am puzzled. I can tell when I am craving church, or fellowship or study or prayer time. But it\u2019s not too often that my entire being yearns for the living God. Reading this also makes me feel a bit guilty. Why am I this way? I should be yearning, but I am not. I just have a little desire. <\/span>But I guess this must be a growing process.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I can remember listening to Jars of Clay\u2019s song, \u201cLove Song for a Savior\u201d a few years back and really relating to the words: \u201cI want to fall in love with you.\u201d I would listen, sing and pray asking God to help me to fall in love with Him. I was studying the Word and I was trying to grow, but I just wasn\u2019t there. And I so wanted to be there.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

It took awhile (on my timeclock), but He did answer my prayer.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

I am now in love with the Lord. Singing that song brings even more joy to my heart because He allowed it to happen<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Now, my prayer is to continue growing, so that I will yearn and cry out for him with all of my being. Reading this Psalm alerts me to the fact hat I still have a lot of growing ahead. And I look forward to that journey.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Prayer:<\/strong> Oh Lord, thank you for revealing yourself, and being patient with me so that now I have fallen in love with you. Please continue to guide me. Thank you for leading me and loving me, even when I so often do not put you first. Please continue to allow our relationship to grow so that one day I will yearn with all of my being. And putting you first won\u2019t be such a struggle.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
