The reading for Wednesday is Matthew 11<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

When it is time to read, please start first by praying and thanking God for His many blessings. Be specific.<\/p>\n

Next present your requests to Him. Ask Him for whatever you want and need.<\/p>\n

Third, ask Him to guide you in your reading, so that you will hear his message for you today.<\/p>\n

After you read, record your SOAP observations<\/a> and then listen for three minutes. Set a timer and just\u00a0 listen to what he might be sharing. Don’t ask. Don’t thank. Just listen. (You can pray more after you listen, if you like.)<\/p>\n

Here is what I heard in the reading:<\/p>\n

Scripture: Matthew 11:29-30<\/strong><\/p>\n

29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls, 30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Observation: <\/strong><\/p>\n

Learn from me and do as I direct. What I will give you to do is just right for you and you can handle it.<\/p>\n

Application:<\/strong><\/p>\n

I have been feeling overwhelmed. I want to do so much. I’m realizing that I want to do more than God wants me to do.<\/p>\n

I need to do better at listening to Him and getting my assignments from Him rather than the world. I can do what He has planned for me without burden if I just listen to Him and squelch out the rest.<\/p>\n

The past few days have been amazing to me as I have heard His guidance and then followed it.<\/p>\n

I need to keep that up and really, really listen and then do as instructed… and not try to slip just a few more things in there.<\/p>\n

Prayer:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lord, I can already see a difference in me that has come from slowing down and listening more. Although I am still catching on and want to do a lot, I can see how you have stepped in to remind me to call on you and listen. I am still amazed by how you have asked me to get help and share the SOAP responsibility and how help has come.<\/p>\n

Please, Lord, continue to guide me. Help me to see and follow your guidance. I want to follow you. I want to do what you have intended. Show me what is your plan and what is not so I can cross off all the things that are not yours.<\/p>\n

I want to take your yoke and learn from you alone.<\/p>\n

Thank you so much for the offer.<\/p>\n

And please, Lord, guide others who are like me and are overwhelmed. Help all of us to slow down and just do what YOU ask.<\/p>\n
