{"id":7414,"date":"2011-05-20T19:00:29","date_gmt":"2011-05-21T00:00:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.momstoolbox.com\/blog\/?p=7414"},"modified":"2011-05-20T14:32:33","modified_gmt":"2011-05-20T19:32:33","slug":"blogging-through-the-gospels-mark-15","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.momstoolbox.com\/blog\/blogging-through-the-gospels-mark-15\/","title":{"rendered":"Blogging Through the Gospels: Mark 15"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The reading for <strong>Saturday<\/strong> is <strong>Mark 15<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Here is what I heard:<\/p>\n<p><strong>There is more to the story than we know<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Scripture: Mark 15:32<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Let this Christ, the King of Israel, come down now from the cross, that we may see and believe.&#8221; Those crucified with him also heaped insults on him.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Observation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He was insulted as the chief priests taunted him to show his power and save himself.<\/p>\n<p>But they didn&#8217;t know the whole story. They thought that once he died, he would be dead. They thought his opportunity to show his strength was at hand and he wasn&#8217;t doing anything.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>How often do we ask him to show his power and then become disappointed when he doesn&#8217;t- or when it appears as though he doesn&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p>Just as at Jesus&#8217; crucifixion, God has bigger plans in mind for us than we might imagine. What looks like defeat or disaster in our eyes could\u00a0 likely be a step that must be climbed before the final outcome of victory is to be achieved.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prayer:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lord, when I an d others are disappointed, discouraged and confused, please show us your glory, your love and comfort.<\/p>\n<p>We do not know every detail of your master plan, but you do.<\/p>\n<p>Guide us in following you and having faith&#8211; even when things appear grim to us.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for your all-knowing power. I love you. I trust you. I am yours and you are in control. Thank you.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>What about you?
