Yes, I can ride my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.momstoolbox.com\/blog\/category\/healthy-living\/cycling-2\/\" target=\"_blank\">bike 180\u00a0 miles in two days each spring<\/a>, but the idea of exercising on funky equipment or using weights totally intimidates me. Smart, huh?<\/p>\n<p>So if I am already planning to be on-site once a week for the meeting, and since I do have a little time before the meeting that I could use, why not give the gym a try? I only need to add a few other trips there each week and I&#8217;ll be golden. Right?<\/p>\n<p>And so I joined. And today I met with a trainer. And he showed me a few things.<\/p>\n<p>Poor guy&#8230; I don&#8217;t think he had any idea what he was getting into when he accepted me as a client.<\/p>\n<p>I doubt he has had anyone else ask him to take so many photos&#8230; especially when that person feels like a total idiot and is attempting to learn proper form.<\/p>\n<p>But, I&#8217;m having fun<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.momstoolbox.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/24-hour-smile.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8998\" title=\"Losing weight and getting fit with a personal trainer\" src=\"http:\/\/www.momstoolbox.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/24-hour-smile.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"502\" height=\"514\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.momstoolbox.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/24-hour-smile.jpg 502w, http:\/\/www.momstoolbox.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/24-hour-smile-292x300.jpg 292w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 502px) 100vw, 502px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>and learning a few exercises<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.momstoolbox.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/24-hour-arms.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8999\" title=\"Losing weight and getting fit with a personal trainer\" src=\"http:\/\/www.momstoolbox.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/24-hour-arms.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"502\" height=\"376\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.momstoolbox.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/24-hour-arms.jpg 502w, http:\/\/www.momstoolbox.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/24-hour-arms-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 502px) 100vw, 502px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>and I&#8217;m on my way to a year-round strategy for losing weight, getting strong and staying that way. (The cycling is great, but I need something to keep me going when it is blazing hot outside, when I travel and something I can stick to even by myself.)<\/p>\n<p>I am hoping to learn exercises to do in a gym, as well as on my own at home. And I&#8217;d like to learn how to run, too. I am planning to run a 5K in about 2 weeks, so I&#8217;d better get crackin&#8217;!<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll keep you posted as to my progress, as long as you promise not to laugh at me or make fun.. okay?<\/p>\n<p>Gulp. Here I go!<\/p>\n<p>Anyone have any tips? Have you ever used a personal trainer?
