21 Days to Calm: Day 1

Good morning, dear friends!

I am working to be more intentional about peace and calm in my life and about leaning on the Holy Spirit in that quest. In the event any of you may be facing anxiety, too, I’m inviting you along for the ride.

For each of the next 21 days, I will share one Bible verse or passage here for you to ponder and meditate on. My hope is that each passage and the time we give to meditation and prayer on it will bring us all peace and turn our focus from Satan’s darts to the Holy Spirit’s promises and stirrings.

Ready to jump in? Here we go:

Read:

Day 1: Philippians 4:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Write:

Take time to write the verse out on paper. (I have a PDF of today’s verse and practice you can use here. Feel free to download it. Or use your own journal or even a scrap of paper.

Reflect:

God invites you to trade your worry for His peace. Prayer isn’t just talking. It is handing over the heavy load and trusting, even though it seems crazy and unlikely, that He CAN and WILL trade those worries for peace.

Practice & Pray:

Write down what is troubling you. Pray over each concern, thanking God for His care. Take one deep breath for every item you surrender.

I hope this helps you to center your mind and heart on beauty, and not anxious thoughts. If you think this might help a friend, please share it. If it helped you, please let me know.

Thanks!
