Read:
Day 9: Psalm 23:1–3
“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul.”
Write:
Take time to write the verse out on paper, either in your journal or even just a scrap of paper.
Reflect:
Pause, and think of the words and message in this passage. He is your shepherd– he is guiding you to the right way of life. He wants you to enjoy peace. Think about soft, green grass flowing in a gentle breeze and resting there. What does that feel like? Imagine quiet waters beside you. What does that sound like? What does that look like? Is it refreshing to your soul?
Practice:
Find times to meditate on this passage 2-3 times today, visualizing the scenery around you as you are gently shepherded in green pastures and beside quiet waters. You might write the passage on an index card or sticky note to carry with you throughout the day to remind you to pause and reflect before anxiety kicks in.
