B 90 Days Day 3

Whew! Today has already been a whirlwind!

I have completed my reading for the day (Genesis 28:20-Genesis 40:11) but have yet to write my SOAP.

The last time I was struck by how prosperous Joseph was, even as a slave. You can read my SOAP about that here.

This is where I begin to wonder how those of you reading to younger children are doing. There is a lot of action in the Bible that might surprise more than a few of you… it IS quite the page-turner!

I’ll be back later with more mentor introductions and back tomorrow with more SOAP.

If you are reading the Bible in 90 Days with us, please know that I am so thankful that you decided to join us. You are being prayed for and you CAN do this, even if you are just joining today. Just jump in and get reading and take your Bible with you everywhere… you’ll be amazed at how much reading time you will be able to find when you are looking for it!

PS. Once you are into the routine, I’ll begin offering a few more Bible reading resources to help. Stay tuned!

  2. Even though this week has been and still is a crazy travel week, I’m managing to stay on track with the program….I’m lovin it :0)

  3. Day 3 reading done…I love the story of the two brothers…being able to hug and let go of the past. What a reminder to all of us that the past belongs int he past and the importance of forgiveness.

I am really enjoying this and so blessed to be a part of this group

Finished Day 3, why have I not done this sooner.?!?! I don’t want to stop but I’m pacing myself so I can take it all in and review each day. Love the STOP exercises and the daily email from Bible in 90 Days site.

  6. Whew…I’m glad to report that I’m up to date on the reading and I’m putting my Bible in my suitcase because I’m heading to the Savvy Blogging conference tomorrow. I pray that I don’t fall behind.

As far as today’s reading is concerned…was anyone else just astounded by the way Esau accepted Jacob back with open arms. I mean Jacob had cheated him out of his birthright and his blessing, but Esau embraced him when he returned. I wonder if Esau had come to accept that all that had happened was God’s will. It really made me think a lot about forgiveness.

  7. Hi :)
I just finished my day 3 reading. Your right it IS a page turner! I love the story of Joseph as well. I had a few distractions come my way about 1/2 way through my reading today, but I was able to refocus and get the last few chapters read. Looking forward to tomorrow.

  10. well, i’m a little behind. i just finished day 2 and i’m going to try and do day 3 later today to catch up… i think a big part of my problem is i feel like i have to pick the same place and the same time and read from the same Bible every day. while i would love to have that kind of a routine and read from one Bible and have underlining all over the place… i have a 5 month old and a crazy life and that doesn’t actually work in my schedule. what’s important is that i DO read, not which Bible i read from. you would think that’s a simple lesson, right? :) anyway, loving this challenge even though it sounds like such a crazy thing! it actually has taken me LESS time than i thought. thanks!

I am just wrapping up with day 3. Today was easier reading than day 1 or 2. Tracy, stay with it. You will find your pace. I switched Bibles mid-day yesterday. I was reading from King James Bible on my Kindle. Mid-day yesterday I was getting frustrated because I was having to re-read chapters and verses and it was getting tough to finish up my reading so early in the journey. I was thrilled to see that Amazon.com had the Bible in 90 Days available for Kindle. It truly reads like a novel and I have been page turning constantly. It made a world of difference. If I had stuck with my KJV, I am not sure I would have been able to stay with it all the way through out of frustration with the language and wording.

  15. Hi well I am struggling big style and only on day 3 . Day 1 no prob day 2 did half and so far nothing day 3 not a good start

Sorry had to find the scripture to back that up!! 2Ch. 3:1
2Ch 3:1 Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD at Jerusalem in mount Moriah, where the LORD appeared unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.

    HEY,

Did anyone realize that Chapter 22 v 2 Moriah was later named Jerusalem! 22:4 On the Third day—- JESUS rose from the grave on the 3rd day!! I have learned that the story stays the same, but the charaters change.
