Bible 180: Struggling? Week 3 Resources

Hello and welcome to week 3 of Bible 180!

I know that some of you are moving right along on track or even a touch ahead. And I am thrilled for you. WAY TO GOOOOOOOOO!

For some of you, though, you are struggling. So I’m going to take a moment to addess those who are struggling here first, and then I will get to the weekly resources.

Y’all okay with that?

Okay.

So here’s the thing. Week 3, whether it is the Bible in 90 Days program or Bible 180, is when I start to see people drop off. Either they haven’t started yet (for a variety of reasons), they are struggling to keep up, or the reading is getting really dry, so it’s just challenging. This is when I see people give up. And then regret it later.

So as I hear more and more of you share that you haven’t started yet, or that you are maybe going to set this aside and try again another time, I feel compelled to take a moment to talk about how you can be successful in reading the entire Bible with the group.

You signed up for this program for a reason. You wanted to read the entire Bible, cover to cover. And I know that you CAN do this with me and read every single word by December 27 if you really want to do it. You can.

You can do this even if you are in an extremely busy season of life. I’ve done it. I’ve seen thousands of others do it with me, some through deaths of family members, sicknesses, lengthy hospital stays, big moves, career changes, divorces, and more. I’ve also seen many fall off and say they will get to it later. Most that fall off don’t get to it later. But they want to. And those who do it in the hard times share that this reading was a big help in getting them through the other things happening in their life.

This program, for the average reader, takes about 90 hours of reading time in total. Over 6 months, that really is not that long.

If you are struggling or even if you haven’t started yet, please think carefully before you stop. Consider these things:

Why did you want to read the Bible in the first place?

Why do you want to give up on the goal?

How are you going to feel on December 27 if you have read every word? (I cried the first time I finished. And then I went to buy myself a charm to commemorate it and cried again at the James Avery store as I was making the purchase. Both were pretty powerful moments.)

Could you break your reading down into 15-minute increments and read 3-4 times a day for 4 days and see how that feels?

I know you can do this. And I know there are forces that don’t want you to do this.

Who are you going to let win?

The Bible 180 Week 3 resource document is here: Bible 180 Week 3. Print it out, enjoy the insight, and check off the days as you read.

Just want the week’s reading schedule, here it is:

The full Bible 180 reading schedule is here: Bible 180 Reading Plan. Print that out too and check off each day’s reading as you make your way through the Bible. (Those check marks are super satisfying!)

You CAN do this. It really is up to you. So….Do you want to… or not?

Please leave a comment and let us know.

I am rooting for you.
