Friday is the first of two grace days built into our Bible in 90 Days reading plan.

We already have more than 100 finishers, but there are many more than that reading with us… so don’t lose hope or get discouraged if you are still feeling behind the pack. Read like crazy today. I really want you to finish with us or as absolutely as close as you can. If you put it off, it will become more difficult to finish.

On Saturday, which is Day 90, I will post a celebration linky for bloggers to link up their own posts about the experience. Non bloggers, I want to hear from you, too! I’d love to read your stories in the comments on Saturday, too. Get ready!

Our final twitter party of the session (and I do mean par-tay) is this Monday, October 10 from 8-9 CST. Come ready to gush, chat and inspire those who still need a little push. Alumni and interested tweeters are invited, too.

I finished my reading yesterday. Hadn’t quite realized how close I was to finishing, or I think I would have kept going on Wednesday! I, too, used a highlighter to mark verses that stood out to me as I read along. This was my second time going through the Bible in 90 Days program, and the first time I tried to just jot down notable verses on a piece of paper–that did NOT work for me! But I was raised in an era of NOT marking in books at ALL, so it is sometimes hard for me to overcome that mentality. Anyway, THIS time I read with my trusty Bible marking pencil, and just underlined anything that caught my eye. I was SO blessed that I did this. And now I have a beautiful Bible marked with precious promises. Almost any page I open to, there is a special verse there for me. Priceless. I now wouldn’t trade this Bible for ANYTHING. It is not in “perfect” condition any more, because it has been dragged around and even had food dropped on it as I read while I ate breakfast. But the “dirtier” my Bible became, the “cleaner” my heart was washed. :)

I am DONE, DONE, DONE!!! I have officially completed reading through the Bible in 90 days, actually doing it in 89 days. Granted I read the last 2 days’ readings in one sitting and now it is the middle of night….I just didn’t want to put it down. How can you leave off reading a book at the climax? I’ll be tired tomorrow, but it was worth it. It helped to have accountability and encouragement each week (YAY Group 62). I used a 90 day Bible (it had no notes in it, just the Scriptures) and armed with a blue highlighter (no reason for the blue, it was the marker I had on hand), I highlighted any verses that resonated with me. Now when I leaf through this Bible, I can see all the things that stood out to me about God, Jesus, about how I should walk, or was something I wanted to learn more about or study more. This Bible was also in a version I don’t normally read, so there were familiar verses that seemed new because it was new wording.

I have a couple books of the Bible that I now plan to drill down on and study more closely. And I plan to start reading the Chronological Bible that I purchased late 2010 and never cracked open. So I have plenty to keep me in the Word.
