Blogging Through the Gospels: Luke 20

The reading for Tuesday is Luke Chapter 20.

Here is what I heard:

Scripture:

Luke 20:46

“Beware of the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and love to be greeted in the marketplaces and the most important seats in the synagogues and places of honor at banquets.”

Observation:

Look out for those who share the word and yet seek out praise from men.

Application:

I need to keep watch over myself, also, that I study and share His word without doing it to seek praise from men.

Prayer:

Lord, please guide my heart and let me catch myself when I am heading down a path for the wrong reasons. Please guide my service for you that it would be just that– service to you and not ego-building for me.

What about you? What did you see and hear in your reading of Luke 20?
